We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. Kansas – 50th Anniversary Tour [Leg 2]

Start Date – February 2

After playing several successful shows on their current 50th anniversary tour, Kansas have decided to extended the run. The rock music legends added several new dates, extending the trek by an additional four months. Check out the full list of new shows below.

“The way audiences have received the 50th Anniversary Tour has been spectacular,” Kansas drummer and original member Phil Ehart states. “It only made sense to extend the tour into 2024. We look forward to fans in more locations being able to see the tour – and for people who loved it the first time to see it again!” Ehart adds, “Heck, the first 50 dates didn’t even include the state of Kansas. You know we must perform there!”

“Our entire career has been a winding journey,” guitarist and original Kansas member Richard Williams noted in a press release. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with Queen, worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture and Point of Know Return, the valleys of the ’90s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, various lineup changes, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last eight years – there have been several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th Anniversary Tour and release will represent that journey and the forks along that road.”

“I’m incredibly excited about the 50th Anniversary Tour,” adds vocalist Ronnie Platt, who joined the band’s lineup in 2014. “I tell people I’m not allowed to create a set list, because it would be five hours long. There are so many songs I want to perform live. I think fans will be excited not only to hear our hits and fan favorites spanning 50 years of Kansas but also some songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.”

Earlier this year, Kansas released a career-spanning compilation titled Another Fork in the Road – 50 years of Kansas. The album is available digitally and on a three-CD set.

With Watt at the helm, it’s safe to say that fans can expect a heavier, more guitar-driven outing, given his previous success with acts like Ozzy Osbourne and The Rolling Stones. Pearl Jam recorded a bulk of their new record at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studio in Malibu, California.

On January 31, Pearl Jam held an ultra-exclusive album reveal of Dark Matter. The event took place at the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles, California. Band members Eddie Vedder (vocals), Mick McCready (guitar), and Jeff Ament (bass) were on hand, as well as producer Andrew Watt.

“We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” Vedder said at the event. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful. No hyperbole – I think this is out best work.”

Bassist Jeff Ament added, “What Ed said about getting us in a room at this point, we felt like we were about to make a really important record. A lot of that had to do with the atmosphere Andrew set up. He has encyclopedic knowledge of our history, not only as a band and how we wrote songs, but as players. He could pinpoint things we did on old songs to the point where I was like, ‘What the fuck is he talking about?’ His excitement was contagious. He’s a force. I just want to say thanks for keeping us on track. I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band. I feel so grateful for the fans, but mostly for my brothers and these people I’ve made music with.”

Sammy Hagar live 2024 tour
Sammy Hagar [Leah Steiger]

Sammy Hagar – The Best of All Worlds Tour
with Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham

Start Date: July 13

Sammy Hagar is returning to the road this year. The Red Rocker has confirmed plans for a full North American run slated for the summer. He will be joined by rock heavyweights and longtime bandmates Michael Anthony on bass and backing vocals, Jason Bonham on drums, and Joe Satriani on guitar. Featuring special guests Loverboy, the 28-date tour kicks off on July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida and will conclude on August 31 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The tour follows on the heels of the chart-topping success of Van Halen’s The Collection II, the box set released on October 6. The new release is a sequel of sorts to 2015’s The Collection, which featured the band’s six albums recorded by the band’s original lineup with singer David Lee Roth. The new set includes 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991), and Balance (1995). These records represent the band’s phenomenal streak of four No. 1 Billboard 200 albums in a row. Additionally, fans will enjoy the Studio Rarities 1989-2004 LP, an exclusive compilation that assembles eight gems from the Hagar era for the first time. Among these rarities is “Crossing Over,” the B-Side to Balance’s “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, and the band’s only non-album B-side.

“It’s crazy to think that it’ll be 20 years since Mikey and I played these songs with Van Halen on the 04’ Best of Both Worlds Tour,” Sammy Hagar said. “With Joe on board, we can take a deeper dive into those years. We’re going to touch on some hits from my entire career but seeing fans old and new really embrace the new collection set off something in Mikey and I. We were at my Birthday Bash in Cabo for my 76th and looked at each other and high fived, like ‘let’s do it.’ We pulled out a couple of them and it was an instant lovefest with the fans from our first riffs. The music we created is going to outlive us all. They deserve to be heard so it’s time we go out and serve the fans that music, while we still can.”

Lamb of God and Mastodon – The Ashes of Leviathan Tour

Start Date: July 17

This summer, heavy metal mainstays Lamb of God and Mastodon are joining forces for a monstrous co-headlining run. The Ashes of Leviathan Tour will see the two storied acts perform classic albums in full to celebrate their respective 20th anniversaries. Lamb of God will grind out Ashes of the Wake, while Mastodon will churn through Leviathan. The landmark tour kicks off on July 19 at Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, and wraps up on August 31 at the The Astro Amphitheater in Omaha, Nebraska. Very special guests will be Kerry King’s new band, along with Malevolence and Unearth, on select dates.

The tour is going to be quite the family affair. Hellyeah bassist Kyle Sanders, brother of Mastodon frontman Troy Sanders, plays bass for Kerry King. Their brother, Darren Sanders, serves as Mastodon’s guitar tech. The trek should be an experience to remember for the Sanders brothers.

Lamb of God’s seminal outing Ashes of the Wake was released on August 30, 2004 through Epic/Prosthetic. Produced by Machine (Clutch, The Amity Affliction, Crobot), the album hit No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and No. 11 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart. The record gets off to a running start with the signature track and lead single, “Laid to Rest.” The rest of the disc is anchored by songs like “Hourglass,” “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For,” and the bone-crushing “Omertà.” Since its release, Ashes of the Wake has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

As fate would have it, Mastodon’s sophomore effort Leviathan was released also released on August 30, 2004. Featuring hits like “Iron Tusk,” “Megalodon,” “I Am Ahab,” and the epic “Blood and Thunder,” which features a special guest appearance by Clutch frontman Neil Fallon. The critically acclaimed album took many “Album of the Year” crowns that year, and is widely regarded as one of the best heavy music albums of the last two decades.

Slayer guitarist Kerry King recently unleashed the first taste of his highly anticipated solo project. The debut single, “Idle Hands, is from his forthcoming album, From Hell I Rise. It was produced by Kerry King himself, alongside Josh Wilbur (Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, Korn). It is slated to arrive on May 17 through Reigning Phoenix Music. For the record, King recruited Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph, Death Angel vocalist Mark Osegueda, Hellyeah bassist Kyle Sanders, and former Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel, who briefly toured with Slayer back in 2018.

Five Finger Death Punch – North American Tour
with Marilyn Manson and Slaughter to Prevail

Start Date: August 2

This summer, Five Finger Death Punch are stacking up their calendar. In addition to more dates with Metallica, the band has confirmed a headlining tour featuring special guests Slaughter to Prevail. The trek also features the return of shock rock icon Marilyn Manson, who will serve as direct support. The tour begins on August 2 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania and wraps up on September 19 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, Texas.

In 2022, Five Finger Death Punch released their ninth studio album AfterLife through Better Noise Music. Produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Churko, three singles from the album – “AfterLife,” “Welcome to the Circus,” and “Times Like These,” all topped the Mainstream Rock Chart. The record hit No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums Chart.

Marilyn Manson hasn’t toured in five years. His last album, 2020’s We Are Chaos, performed well commercially, topping the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart and peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. The record gave Manson his first No. 1 album in Australia since 1998’s Mechanical Animals. Drummer Gil Sharone, who performed on Manson’s previous two albums – The Pale Emperor (2015) and Heaven Upside Down (2017), left the group in 2019. He was replaced by Black Flag drummer Brandon Pertzborn.

ollowing the release of the album, Manson was subsequently dropped from his label, Loma Vista Recordings, following sexual abuse allegations from his former fiancé, actress Evan Rachel Wood (True BloodWestworldFrozen II). Wood, who was in a relationship with Manson from 2007 to 2010, alleged that Manson had “horrifically abused” her throughout the course of their relationship. The couple got engaged in January of 2010, but split a few months later. After Wood made allegations, several other women also came forward and revealed alleged similar experiences.

Slaughter to Prevail recently unleashed a brand new single, “Conflict.” The track is the Russian deathcore upstart’s first new piece of material in two years. The group released their debut EP, ‘Chapters Of Misery‘ in 2016 and followed with their debut full-length album, ‘Misery Sermon’ in 2017. They released stand alone singles “Agony” and “Demolisher” in 2019 and 2020 respectively, followed by their second full-length, Kostolom, released in 2021.

New Found Glory live
New Found Glory [Elena de Soto]

New Found Glory – Catalyst 20th Anniversary Tour

Start Date: August 16

Pop punk legends New Found Glory embarking on an extensive headlining tour later this simmer celebrating 20 years of their 2004 album, Catalyst. The band today announced a two leg North American Tour that will see them playing the iconic record in full – including hits like “All Downhill From Here”, “Truth Of My Youth”, and “Failure’s Not Flattering” – along with a number of other songs from throughout their discography. Joining them will be special guests Sincere Engineer.

“Fans trust us because of albums like Catalyst,” guitarist Chad Gilbert says proudly. “We can make these records and branch out creatively, and they know we’re never going to do something really weird. We are who we are, and I love that we can play whatever and still crush it.”

By the time New Found Glory had broken through with the release of their third album, 2002’s Sticks & Stones, they were well on their way to a permanent place on pop-punk’s Mount Rushmore thanks to a inimitable blend of punk-rock ethos, hardcore energy, and razor-sharp melodicism. Smash singles “Hit Or Miss” and “My Friends Over You” had launched a thousand garage bands, even inspiring up-and-coming acts to crib their names from NFG’s lyrics, but it was 2004’s Catalyst that cemented the Coral Springs, Florida, legends as not just one of the most influential pop-punk bands ever, but a mainstream power player as well.

Louder, darker and heavier than its predecessors, Catalyst marked the sound of the band (guitarist Chad Gilbert, vocalist Jordan Pundik, bassist Ian Grushka, and drummer Cyrus Bolooki) pushing back at what was expected of them, sidestepping the natural inclination to slow down and mellow out – and, in the process, becoming more popular than ever.

“We were coming off ‘My Friends Over You’ and had the pressure of fans going, ‘Oh, what’s this band going to turn into?” Gilbert remembers. “We decided to keep being ourselves. Rock bands were going a little more pop at that time, but we wanted to carve out a lane for ourselves and say, ‘Look, we’re part of this genre and love it, but we’re also one of a kind and different.’”

Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper – Freaks on Parade Tour
with Ministry and Filter

Start Date: August 20

This summer, the Freak Parade is coming back through town. Shock rock icons Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper have confirmed plans to run it back with special guests Ministry and Filter. The now-annual Freaks on Parade Tour commences on August 20 at the Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque, New Mexico and wraps up on September 18 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

In January, Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D (a.k.a. Matt Montgomery) announced that he was leaving the band after almost 20 years. Montgomery leaves the band just over a year after guitarist John 5, who departed in October of 2022. John 5 joined rock icons Mötley Crüe on tour in place of founding guitarist Mick Mars. Before the official announcement was made, Rob Zombie performed at Aftershock 2022 in Sacramento, California with Mike Riggs, the original guitarist for his solo band. Riggs was with Zombie from 1997 until 2003. John 5 left Marilyn Manson’s band and linked up with Zombie in 2005, until his previously noted departure in 2022.

Just hours after Piggy D’s exit, Rob Zombie took to Instagram to confirm what fans had been speculating.

“After 18 years I am thrilled to announce that Blasko has returned! The original 4-string Zombie monster is back. Get ready for a crazy summer of mayhem.”

Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, now successfully managing the likes of Black Veil Brides, Zakk Wylde, Black Label Society, High On Fire, and Clutch, is also Ozzy Osbourne’s bassist. He appeared on Zombie’s first three solo albums before his departure in 2006.

Rob Zombie’s last album was The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy, which arrived in 2021 through Nuclear Blast. It performed well commercially, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and topping Billboard’s Top Rock and Top Hard Rock albums charts. Alice Cooper recently announced a special 50th anniversary release of Billion Dollar Babies. His sixth studio album returns in all its snakeskin glory for an extended 50th-anniversary celebration. After hitting #1 on the album charts in America and the U.K. in 1973, the record remains a high-water mark for the original lineup, featuring hits like “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Elected.”

Ministry’s new album HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES. The band’s sixteenth studio effort arrives on March 1 via Nuclear Blast Records. Ministry released the record’s lead single “Goddamn White Trash” is out now. Last August, Filter released their latest album, The Algorithm. The record features the singles “Face Down” and “For The Beaten.” It is the follow up to 2016’s Crazy Eyes.

More world tour dates are set to be announced imminently.

“We’ve really enjoyed playing all the shows on the Future Past Tour this year, and the reaction from our fans has been incredible,” Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris said in a statement. “Being able to play some of these songs for the very first time has made the tour even more memorable, and we can’t wait to continue it next year.”

Regarding the Australian dates, which were previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Harris adds, “We’re all really excited to finally be able to return to Australia as we know our fans have waited so patiently for us over the past few years. It’s going to be great to get back out there, especially with this new show. We promise you all, it’ll be worth the wait!”

The band’s longtime manager Rod Smallwood says, “All our best-laid plans to bring the Legacy of the Beast Tour to Australia were derailed by the shut-down of the live music industry during COVID, but we assured everyone at the time that we would come back to Australia and, as our fans know, we always keep our promises. So, as you would imagine, we’re very much looking forward to bringing this amazing new show to the Southern hemisphere and giving our loyal Australian fans the best Maiden show we can. You can be assured it’s worth the wait. See you all in 2024!”

Still one of the hardest touring acts around, Iron Maiden brought their Legacy of the Beast Tour back to North American last year for another massive run. Slipknot live
Slipknot [© Matt Bishop/The Rock Revival]

Slipknot – Slipknot 25th Anniversary European Tour

Start Date: 5 December

Next year, Slipknot are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal self-titled debut album. The record put a little-known nine piece from Iowa on the map. Now, the group is heading back out on the road next year to commemorate the landmark LP.

Released on June 29, 1999, Slipknot came out in the thick of a hard rock renaissance. Filled with hits like “Wait and Bleed,” “Spit It Out,” “Surfacing,” and more, the album peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart. From the get-go, Slipknot announced their arrival by kicking the door down with the opening track, “(sic),” an absolutely brutal assault that would set the tone for a career extending over two decades, filled with chart-topping albums, sold out tours, and massive festival headlining slots.

Slipknot are returning to Europe and the UK next December for a headlining arena tour. The run begins on 5 December in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with stops in Germany, Switzerland, France, and more. Very special guests for the trek will be Bleed from Within.

Back in June, Slipknot parted ways with keyboardist Craig Jones. Jones had been a member of the band for nearly three decades. Slipknot confirmed the news on their official social media.

“To our fans, Slipknot is announcing that we have parted ways with Craig Jones,” the band said in a statement. “We wish jones all the best for the future.”

Jones joined Slipknot in 1996 after the departure of guitarist Donnie Steele. His time on guitar was short-lived, as he quickly moved to keyboards and sampling. Slipknot brought in Mick Thomson to take over guitar duties.

Last month, Slipknot dismissed long-time drummer Jay Weinberg in a shocking announcement.

“We would like to thank Jay Weinberg for his dedication and passion over the last ten years. No one can ever replace Joey Jordison’s original sound, style, or energy, but Jay honored Joey’s parts and contributed to the lat three albums and we, the band, and the fans appreciate it. But as ever, Slipknot is intent on evolving. The band has decided to make a creative decision, and to part ways with Jay. We wish Jay all the best and are very excited for what the future holds.”
