The band extends their record for most Mediabase Active Rock No. 1 songs
Multi-platinum, record-breaking band Shinedown have earned their 26th No. 1 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart with “Young Again,” extending their all-time record for the most chart-topping songs in the format’s history. The latest single from their acclaimed new album EI8HT, out now via Atlantic Records, adds another milestone to a historic run for the band, who also hold the record for the most No. 1s on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with 23.

Not only has the song risen to the highest spot on Active Rock but it has been steadily climbing the Alternative Charts and is approaching Top 20. This is the second time the band has had a top charting Alternative song off of EI8HT as their song “Three Six Five” hit #1 at Alternative along with hitting top charting placement at HOT AC, AC and Top 40 Radio.
Pairing explosive energy with a reminder to embrace the present, “Young Again” captures the freedom of playing beneath the streetlights and the moments that become the memories we carry throughout our lives. Its accompanying music video, directed by Andrew Donoho, brings that spirit to life, underscoring the song’s message that we will never be this young again.
The achievement arrives as Shinedown continue their Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour, bringing their high-octane live show to audiences around the globe. Following a summer of North American dates, the band will head to Australia and New Zealand this September for a co-headlining tour with Bush, marking Shinedown’s first performances Down Under in more than 15 years.
The single’s ascent follows “Safe and Sound,” which earned Shinedown their 25th Mediabase Active Rock No. 1 and 23rd Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay No. 1. More than two decades into their career, the band continues to build on that unprecedented radio success with songs that connect across generations, balancing massive hooks with an emotional honesty that has become their calling card.
Released earlier this year, EI8HT finds Shinedown exploring resilience, loss, hope and human connection across their most expansive body of work to date. Produced by bassist and co-songwriter Eric Bass at his Big Animal Studio in Charleston, the album pairs the band’s arena-sized ambition with deeply personal songwriting. Associated Press declared, “Shinedown has made a career of baring their souls in their music. ‘EI8HT’ is another victory, maybe their biggest yet.
”The album has anchored a landmark year that also includes a performance on the grand finale of American Idol, a headlining set at Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, and the band’s second consecutive Rock Artist of the Year win at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
That momentum continues onstage this fall. Shinedown and Bush’s September run opens at Auckland’s Spark Arena on September 17, followed by Australian shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Highlights include Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on September 23 and Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on September 25, before the run concludes at Perth HPC on September 29. The Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour then heads to Europe and the UK, with stops including Paris’ Zénith on October 31, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on November 16, London’s OVO Arena Wembley on November 19, and Manchester’s AO Arena on November 20, before concluding in Dublin on November 22.
