Porny for Pyros have postponed their upcoming 2023 tour dates. Their previously announced Horns, Thorns, en Halos Tour was meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. The trek was set to kick off on October 8 at Hard Rock Live in Wheatland, California and wrap up on November 20 at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas. While fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see the band live again, they won’t have to wait quite as long for new music.

“We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate our 30th anniversary with you,” the band said in a statement. “Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows. Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time. So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished. Listen up for the new music in the upcoming weeks and keep an eye out for new tour dates. We’re coming!”

The band has not released any new material since their 1997 single, “Hard Charger,” which was featured on the soundtrack for the feature film Private Parts starring Howard Stern.

Last year saw the reunion of the original members (Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, and Peter DiStefano) at Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. They stepped in for Jane’s Addiction, who pulled out due to guitarist Dave Navarro’s ongoing recovery from Long COVID-19. Bassist Mike Watt, who was a member of the band from 1995 through 1998, joined Porno for Pyros for the reunion gig. It was the band’s first live performance in 26 years.

“The gang and the government are no different,” frontman Perry Farrell said in a statement. “That makes me 1%. Rockville, although we are blue that Jane’s cannot be with you at this time due to Dave’s long bout with COVID, I am still coming to Daytona, bringing to you for the first time in 26 years Porno For Pyros Featuring myself, Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefeno and Mike Watt. We’ll play some Jane’s songs for you as well, but for now let’s recall: My boat’s capsized it’s gonna sink to the bottom. I can see the lights on the shore.”

They followed that up with sold out shows at the Belasco in Los Angeles, California, and the Metro in Chicago, Illinois, and a featured performance at Lollapalooza, with original bassist Martyn LeNoble rejoining the group for those gigs.

Porno for Pyros rose from the ashes of Jane’s Addiction’s first break-up in 1992. When Jane’s folded, singer Farrell and drummer Perkins recruited guitarist Peter DiStefano and bassist Martyn LeNoble to form Porn for Pyros. They released their self-titled debut album on April 27, 1993 through Warner Bros. Records. The recorded faired well commercially, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The gold-selling album garnered the band a No. 1 Modern Rock hit single with “Pets.” Their sophomore effort, Good God’s Urge, arrived in 1996.
