The all-new “Falling out of Love” follows the lead single “Going Shopping.” Recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin and finished around the globe, Reality Awaits marks the band’s first new music since 2020’s much-lauded The New Abnormal.
Last month, the band revealed a huge world tour across North America, the U.K., Europe, South America and Japan, kicking off in June and running through the fall. The tour will see stops including two nights at Red Rocks, two nights at London’s The O2, Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre, Paris’ Accor Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and more. Thundercat, Cage the Elephant, Hamilton Leithauser, Fat White Family, The Garden, Alex Cameron, Geordie Greep, Promiseland and ÖLÜM will support select dates across the tour.
The Strokes entered the current phase of their career in 2022 by reestablishing themselves as a formidable live act, notably serving as special guests for Red Hot Chili Peppers on select dates of their global stadium tour. That run—tied to the Chili Peppers’ Unlimited Love era—placed the New York indie rock pioneers back in front of massive audiences, exposing a new generation to their early-2000s garage-rock revival sound while reaffirming their legacy status among contemporaries and younger bands alike. The collaboration continued into 2023, when The Strokes were again tapped as rotating support on the Chili Peppers’ North American and international tour dates alongside other high-profile acts, reinforcing their enduring relevance on major global stages.
Following massive performances at Coachella, the band will perform headline sets at Primavera Sound’s return to Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Santiago along with Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026 and more to come.
The Strokes are a band from New York City. Since their 2001 debut, their beloved discography has defined the sound of a generation.
