Fans need to stop throwing shit on stage at shows.

On Monday, May 11, while performing at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes was struck in the head when a fan threw a cell phone onto the stage. The incident caused a cut that left Sykes bleeding, ultimately resulting in a mild concussion. Sykes addressed the situation after the show through the band’s official social media channels.

Watch fan-filmed footage of the incident below.

“Alright everyone – just wanted to let you know that I’m all good,” Sykes said in a statement. “The phone to the head definitely smarted and I ended up with a mild concussion, but the swelling’s gone down a decent amount already. Last night I was struggling a bit on stage afterwards because singing was putting a lot of pressure on the wound and making things feel a bit disorienting while performing, so I’m sorry on my part for what may of seemed like a half-hearted performance. (I) appreciate everyone checking in and working about me though. Everything should be fine for tonight’s gig.”

Last night – Tuesday, May 12 – Bring Me The Horizon performed as scheduled at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

The band’s current North American tour wraps up this Friday, May 15 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, followed by a headlining appearance at Sonic Temple on Saturday, May 16.

Bring Me The Horizon are becoming one of the most successful rock bands today, selling over 5 million albums worldwide. Renowned for their explosive live shows, they have played sold-out concerts in over 50 countries and headlined major festivals, including Reading & Leeds in 2022 and Glastonbury in 2016 and 2019, where they captivated a traditionally non-rock audience. With over 1 billion YouTube views and ranking among the top 500 most-streamed artists on Spotify, their influence continues to grow. In 2024, they released their latest studio album, POST HUMAN: NeX GEn, via Sony/RCA.
