WATCH: Metallica Release Pro-Shot Footage of “Holier Than Thou” and “Lux Eterna” from Bucharest Concert

The band is currently trekking around the globe on their mammoth M72 World Tour

Metallica have revealed pro-shot footage of a recent hit single and a Black Album deep cut. During their performance in Bucharest earlier this month, the band captured themselves tearing through “Lux Eterna” from their latest album 72 Seasons and “Holier Than Thou” from their iconic self-titled 1991 effort. Next month, Metallica are reissuing their 4x platinum album ReLoad. The new edition features a remastered version of the band’s seventh studio album on vinyl, CD, and cassette. It will be released June 26 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings.

Metallica just hit the road for their 2026 world tour, the recently the band added two more gigs to their docket. In the fall, Metallica are set to play two intimate shows at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The gigs are a celebration of the venue’s 25th anniversary, and will follow the band’s No Repeat Weekend format. Very special guests will be Suicidal Tendencies and Spiritbox, opening on different nights.

“We hope to see you there as we join a long list of artists who have performed at the arena, including Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Lady Gaga, Chris Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Joel, Beyoncé, and many more,” Metallica said in a statement. “Twenty-five years and over 3,000 events later, we’re honored to help celebrate this milestone.”

Suicidal Tendencies will kick things off on November 19, while Spiritbox will open on November 21.

Metallica are set to have a wild year in 2026. Recently, due to unprecedented demand, the group added 16 new shows to their upcoming residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. After the initial 8 shows sold out in record time with hundreds of thousands of fans waiting in the queue, the band has more than doubled their residency, stretching it into 2027.

This summer, the heavy metal juggernauts are returning to Europe and the UK for another leg of their M72 World Tour. The trek will feature very special guests Gojira, Pantera, Knocked Loose, and Avatar. The trek will be hitting London, Cardiff, Dublin, Berlin, Bucharest, Athens, and more. Turns out, the band had much more planned.

After much anticipation, Metallica announced their Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas last week. The band initially announced 8 concerts at the revolutionary venue, joining the likes of U2, Eagles, Dead & Company, and more. The run will take place in October and will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of the band’s M72 World Tour, with no songs repeated on each Thursday and Saturday throughout the course of the run.
