A lot has been going on for Tom Morello lately. The Rage Against the Machine guitarist has been touring alongside Bruce Springsteen, jamming with The Boss and his E Street band nightly. He also released a fiery collaboration with System of a Down singer Serj Tankian alongside his son, Roman Morello, called “Adjourn It.”

While in the midst of his European solo tour, Tom scrapped the last few shows and flew home to the States early to be with his mother as she recovered from a hospital visit. On July 13, Tom revealed on social media that his 102-year old mother, a teacher and activist, had passed away.

After Tom shared the news of Mary’s passing, tributes began pouring in from the likes of Shirley Manson (Garbage), Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe), Serk Tankian (System of Down), Anthrax, John 5, Dropkick Murphys, Vicky Cornell, Jack Black, and Metallica, among many others.

Tom Morello was at the end of a headlining tour in Europe when his mother was released from the hospital in the United States. On June 25, Tom made the decision to cut the trip short, canceling the last few shows – including a festival appearance at Tons of Rock – to get home to his mother as soon as he could.

Now, Morello’s rollercoaster ride continues with the announcement of new solo album, ‘Everyone Gets Everything They Want.’ The record’s lead single “Date Night” is out now, featuring help from Roman on guitar and veteran producer Tyler Smyth.
