John Mayer has announced a new solo album Sob Rock. The forthcoming LP is due out on July 16, Mayer confirmed on Twitter. The album cover can be seen below.

The new album is Mayer’s first solo effort since 2017’s The Search For Everything. Since then, Mayer released three singles – 2018’s “New Light,” as well as “I Guess I Just Feel Like” and “Carry Me Away” in 2019. It is unknown whether or not those tracks will appear on Sob Rock.

Mayer will return to the road with Dead & Company in August for a 31-date tour. The trek kicks off on August 16 and wraps up with a three-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29-31. Many of the stops feature multiple performances.

Mayer’s last studio outing The Search For Everything peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums via Columbia records.
