Last night in Colorado, legendary rocker Billy Idol joined Foo Fighters jammed together at Jazz Aspen Snowmass. They performed a cover of the Sex Pistols’ “Pretty Vacant,” a track from the band’s lone studio outing, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. Check out the fan-filmed footage below now.

This isn’t the first time Idol and the Foos have crossed paths. The two acts joined forces back in 2018 when Foo Fighters were headlining Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida. Along with Idol, they covered John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth.”

It’s no secret that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl loves jamming with other people. Back in June after the band’s surprise appearance at Glastonbury, Grohl proceeded to hang around Worthy Farm all weekend. On Saturday (June 24), Grohl joined The Pretenders and Johnny Marr, playing drums for a song. Later that evening, he jumped on stage with Guns N’ Roses to help them close out their headlining set with “Paradise City” (video HERE).

Back in the spring, a replica of the original 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. – called The Atlantis – was constructed. The venue, owned by I.M.P., was built to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the 9:30 Club. Sitting next door to the current venue, the all-new, even smaller club is hosting 44 shows with tickets priced at just $44.

On May 30, Foo Fighters kicked things off with the first performance. The stacked lineup included several high profile rock and alternative acts including Modern English, Franz Ferdinand, Pixies, Barenaked Ladies, The Head and The Heart, Clutch, The Struts, Third Eye Blind, Portugal. the Man, Living Colour, Iron & Wine, Bush, Thievery Corporation, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Gary Clark Jr., Spoon, Bastille, The Walkmen and Matt & Kim. The shows run through September 29, with Billy Idol performing on September 17.

Foo Fighters will continue their world tour this summer into fall, with appearances at Sea Hear NowRiot Fest, and more. The band’s 2023 headlining performances will take place across the U.S. though October. The Breeders, Garbage, The Pretty Reckless, Wet Leg, and Taipei Houston will serve as special guests on select dates.

Next year, Foo Fighters are returning to the UK for a full headlining run. The Everything or Nothing at All Tour begins next June at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester and wraps up at Villa Park in Birmingham. Special guests for the shows will be Loose Articles, Courtney Barnett, Honeyblood, Shame, Himalayas, Hot Milk, and GRAMMY® Award winners Wet Leg on select dates.
