Two long-time collaborators will fill in for the beginning of the band’s next tour leg
Shinedown bassist Eric Bass is stepping away from the road for the foreseeable future.
In a video shared on his official social media, Eric said he experienced “a pretty serious mental health crash […] a few weeks ago […], and I don’t really feel its the wise thing for me to do to go out on tour right now.”

The first North American leg of the band’s massive world tour kicked off on May 13 and wrapped on June 6. Shinedown are returning to the road tomorrow, July 11, at July 11 Soaring Eagle in Michigan for another stretch of shows across the continent. For the upcoming gigs, Shinedown have tapped two long-time collaborators to help fill in for Eric while he works his way back to the band. The leg runs through August 23, followed by two festival appearances in September. In late October, Shinedown will head overseas for a run across Europe and the UK. Europe, and the UK. Shinedown have enlisted some major special guests for the trek including Coheed and Cambria, Black Stone Cherry, From Ashes to New, and Those Damn Crows on select dates.

Eric did note in the beginning of his video that he will be missing “the beginning” of the tour (which runs through November), making it clear that he is looking to rejoin the band out on the road as soon as he feels that he’s in a solid place to do so.
Shinedown released their new album EI8HT back on May 29. The record features 18 all-new songs. It is streaming now, and available on CD, Evergreen vinyl, Orange Smoke vinyl, and a special black first pressing vinyl. Signed CDs and Evergreen vinyls are also available.
The album debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200, and No. 1 on both Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums and the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums. After nearly a quarter century of ruling Billboard’s rock charts, Shinedown recently crossed over to its first entry on a country charts, with the hit single “Searchlight” debuting at No. 54 on Country Airplay (dated June 27). The song drew 980,000 audience impressions in the June 12-18 tracking week, according to Luminate.
Earlier this year, the song went No. 11 on two rock radio charts: No. 1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock Chart and No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart. The band currently holds the all-time records for the most No. 1 songs in the history of both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and the Mediabase Active Rock chart. Most recently, “Safe And Sound” extended both records, becoming Shinedown’s 23rd No. 1 on Billboard and record-extending 25th No. 1 on Mediabase.
With this achievement, Shinedown further extended their all-time records for the most No. 1 songs on both charts – two incredible milestones that continue to solidify their unmatched dominance at radio.
In addition to their headlining tour, Shinedown are hosting their very own festival Lunatic Ball this fall. The weekend beach bash is set for October 23-25, 2026, in Miramar Beach, Florida. The jaunt will feature two headlining performances from Shinedown, plus more acts like Bush, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, Living Colour, From Ashes to New, and more.
