The band is reportedly releasing a new album later this year

Def Leppard are back with a brand new song “Rejoice.” The track is from the band’s upcoming album, which they have been working on over the last year. Stream the official lyric video below.
On the creation of the song, lead singer Joe Elliott shares, “This song’s been an amazing journey from concept to conclusion. I said to Phil [Collen] one day, ‘I’ve got this idea for a lyric where the narrator is at absolute rock bottom and wants to rise up to a higher level. Do you have a musical piece that might match with that?’ And he said, ‘As it happens, yes I do.’”
Guitarist Phil Collen adds, “I had this riff, this idea for a song a while ago actually, so when Joe came to me I created this drum loop based with a tribal sound and it fit perfectly with this other arrangement I had. I sent it to Joe and it was like magic – he sang straight over the top of it. And that’s how the song was formed. Then we gave it to Ronan [McHugh] who’d done a proper drum loop with different sounds. It all started gelling and just sounded like a powerful chant. We love it. It’s hard rock for us. It’s got a bit more of an ‘oomph’ than stuff we’ve been doing for a while. It’s kind of magical.”
Late last year, Def Leppard were immortalized in Los Angeles with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The hitmakers joined other rock music greats like KISS, Journey, and Mötley Crüe, among others. They will also be keeping company with other British rock legends like Elton John, The Beatles, Sting, Queen, David Bowie, Billy Idol, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osbourne.
Def Leppard will received the 2,825th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame onOctober 9. Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) President and CEO Bruce Resnikoff all served as guest speakers at the ceremony, while Sirius XM radio personality Bob Buchmann hosted the event. Def Leppard’s star is located at 1750 N. Vine Street, right in front of the historic Capitol Records building.
In addition to the news of their Walk of Fame Star, Def Leppard have new music on the way. In an exclusive interview with Planet Rock recently, singer Joe Elliott confirmed the band is working on their forthcoming 13th studio album. Speaking with Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony, Elliot said that the group may even release the record’s lead single as early as next February.
“We’re working through a new album right now, which won’t be out next year, but we may – and probably will – release a new song in time for Vegas [Las Vegas residency] and then release another one again for the British tour [in June]. That’s the plan that we have right now […]. So, we’re gonna kind of drip feed songs from the album and then it’ll [album] come out late ’26, early ’27 maybe.”
Next month, Def Leppard are returning to Las Vegas for another residency. The rock icons are set to perform 12 shows throughout the month at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The band also booked residencies on The Strip back in 2013 and 2019.

Stream the official audio below. The band will be releasing the track on a 7” vinyl on August 2. It will be available in a special color variant only through the band’s D2C store and in black at all retailers. Additionally, the band curated a few limited edition packages that feature an autographed insert and a t-shirt. Check out all the available versions below.
The all-new “Just Like 73” notably marks the first collaboration between the iconic rock titans and the legendary guitarist, sonic innovator, and co-founder of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. The single revolves around a classic Def Leppard stomp fueled by a robust stadium-size beat, thick riffing, and a signature chant, “Rock with me, just like 73!” Meanwhile, a knockout gang vocal gives way to a signature fret-scorching solo from Morello. The instantly recognizable whammy bar wheezes as he shreds at lightspeed into one last head-nodding hook.
Of the collaboration Joe Elliott shares, “It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time.”
“When I saw David Bowie on TV between 1972 and 1973, everything I thought I knew about music went from black and white to vivid technicolor,” Phil Collen adds. “Our song ‘Just Like 73’ represents that awakening.”
Def Leppard released a new album, Drastic Symphonies, last May. The record paired the band with London’s iconic The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The vinyl and Atmos versions will also feature an exclusive bonus track, “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad.”
