Brian Burkheiser performing with I Prevail [Bill Raymond/The Rock Revival]

I Prevail have split with vocalist Brian Burkheiser. The band confirmed the news on their official social media. According to the group, the parting of ways was mutual.

To Our I Prevail Family:

Today we share that we are mutually parting ways with Brian Burkheiser. This was a difficult decision, but we believe it is the right one and we are all grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together. We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors.

Moving forward, Eric will continue to be the powerhouse frontman you’ve come to know and love. He’ll be backed up live by Dylan who you’ve seen in this role many times over the years at the shows we’ve performed without Brian. Rest assured, we will continue to deliver the high-energy shows that we’ve made a pillar of our band, and we will continue to perform all the bangers from our catalogue. All scheduled shows will go on exactly as planned.

New music coming soon…

See you out there.

I Prevail was formed in late 2013 by Burkheiser (clean vocals), along with Eric Vanlerberghe (unclean vocals), Steve Menoian (lead guitar), Jordan Berger (rhythm guitar), and Lee Runestad (drums). Their debut EP, Heart vs. Mind, was released in 2014, featuring the breakout “Blank Space” cover. This cover peaked at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 23 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

In 2015, rhythm guitarist Jordan Berger departed, leading to the addition of Dylan Bowman (rhythm guitar) and Tony Camposeo (bass) as touring members, with Bowman eventually becoming a full-time member. Drummer Lee Runestad left in 2017, and Gabe Helguera took over drumming duties. The band embarked on several tours, including supporting Crown the Empire and Hollywood Undead in 2015.

I Prevail’s first full-length album, Lifelines, was released on October 21, 2016. The album debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured singles like “Scars,” “Stuck in Your Head,” and “Come and Get It.” The success of Lifelines established the band as a prominent act in the rock and metalcore scenes.

Following a challenging period marked by Brian Burkheiser’s vocal cord injury and subsequent recovery, I Prevail released their second album, Trauma, on March 29, 2019. The album showcased a blend of metalcore with elements of electronic and pop music. Notable tracks include “Bow Down,” “Breaking Down,” and “Hurricane.” Trauma earned the band Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance

On August 19, 2022, I Prevail released their third studio album, True Power. The album continued to explore diverse musical styles, with singles like “Body Bag,” “Bad Things,” and “Deep End.”
