Alt-rock heroes Everclear have announced a brand new studio LP Black Is The New Black, which is set for a Spring 2015 release. It will be the band’s ninth studio effort and their first since 2012’s Invisible Stars. In the meantime, frontman Art Alexakis will hit the road for a solo tour dubbed Songs and Stories – An Evening with Art Alexakis of Everclear. The trek kicks off on November 14 at Ramona Mainstage in Ramona, CA and wraps up on December 17 at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood, CA. Tickets are on sale now via Everclearonline.com. Everclear formed in 1991 in Portland, OR. Throughout their career, the band has released eight studio albums, achieving their greatest commercial success with 1997’s So Much For The Afterglow. The band earned a Grammy Award nomination in 1998 for Best Rock Intrumental Performance for “El Distorto de Melodica.” For the last three summers, Everclear have lead their own Summerland Tour, which has featured other 90s rock acts like Sugar Ray, Filter, Soul Asylum, Marcy Playground, Eve 6, and others. – by Matt Bishop
