The band’s last album ‘Back from the Dead’ came out in 2022

Halestorm are back with a brand new single, “Darkness Always Wins.” The hard rock hitmakers revealed Tuesday their first new piece of material since “can you see me in the dark?” – their collaborative single with I Prevail that came out last year. Stream the official audio for “Darkness Always Wins” below.
Halestorm are reportedly working on the follow-up to 2022’s Back from the Dead. Released through Atlantic, the record produced four singles and hit No. 1 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart. In the United States, the album peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard 200, while hitting No. 2 on Top Rock and No. 4 on Top Hard Rock Albums charts.
Last summer, Halestorm and I Prevail hit the road together along with very special guests Hollywood Undead and Fit For a King. The trek kicks started on July 9 in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park and wrapped up on August 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Bakkt Theater inside Planet Hollywood Casino & Resort.
Halestorm partnered with mental health organization Sound Mind Live to engage fans to pledge support that will provide free-to-the-community mental health programming across the country for fans and the broader community.
Having amassed over 2.5 Billion streams globally, the Grammy-Award winning band Halestorm has grown from a childhood dream of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale into one of the most celebrated rock bands of the last two decades. Most recently, the band released Back From The Dead, their fifth full-length studio album which has tallied over 100 Million streams worldwide. Rolling Stonecalled the title track “a biting but cathartic howler about overcoming all obstacles,” and that song as well, as “The Steeple,” marked their fifth and sixth number ones at rock radio, respectively. Associated Press said the album “will definitely be in the running for best hard rock/metal album of the year.”
Last year, Halestorm leader Lzzy Hale performed with Skid Row on a string of dates. Skid Row and vocalist Erik Grönwall announce that they were parting ways last March. The decision is a joint one that was reach amicably. The group also confirmed that Halestorm singer, guitarist and “longtime friend” Lzzy Hale would be taking over vocal duties for the band’s previously scheduled tour dates.
“I’m stepping in for a few dates as the lead singer of Skid Row,” Lzzy exclaimed. “What an honor to call them my friends and a privilege to be sharing the stage with them! Erik, I wish you all the magic on your next adventure. Now, which leather pants to wear?!”
Back in 2011, Halestorm released an EP of cover songs, ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP. Included in the effort was a version of Skid Row’s hallmark song, “Slave to the Grind.” The band performed a raucous live version on the ShipRocked Cruise in 2020.
The band’s 2018 album, Vicious, earned the band their second GRAMMY® nomination, for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Uncomfortable,” the band’s fourth No. 1 at rock radio, and led Loudwire to name Halestorm “Rock Artist of the Decade” in 2019. Fronted by the incomparable Lzzy Hale with drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bass player Josh Smith, Halestorm’s music has earned multiple Platinum and Gold Certifications from the RIAA, and the band has earned a reputation as a powerful live music force, headlining sold-out shows and topping festival bills around the world, and sharing the stage with icons including Heaven & Hell, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, and Judas Priest. Additionally, Lzzy was named the first female brand ambassador for Gibson and served as host of AXS TV’s “A Year in Music.”
