The country music legend’s upcoming rock album arrives on November 17

Global music icon Dolly Parton will be the featured performer during The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show at the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving Day. She will perform some of her classic country hits, as well as songs from her upcoming rock album, Rockstar. The record features a few original songs penned by Parton, and also sees her teaming up with some rock royalty for reimagined version’s of their respective classic hits.

“Wow! What an honor to to get to kick off The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign with the halftime show during g the Dallas Cowboys game this Thanksgiving,” Parton said. “Those Red Kettles have long been a symbol of hope for our friends and neighbors who are facing hard times.”

She continued, “My goal is to encourage everyone who can to donate and support their neighbors in need. Every small act of generosity helps, and together, we can all love our neighbors this holiday season and beyond.”

Parton has gathered a stellar group of special guests for her forthcoming rock jaunt. The 30-track behemoth will feature special guest appearances by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe, Ann Wilson of HeartElton JohnSting, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and many more.

It will be interesting to see if anyone from the album’s star-studded special guest roster will make an appearance with Parton during the show on Thanksgiving Day.

The NFL’s Thanksgiving Day game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders airs live on November 23 at 4:30pm EST on CBS.

Dolly’s debut rock album arrives on November 17 via Parton’s own label, Butterfly Records. It will be available via digital download, 2-CD, 4-LP vinyl, and several limited edition CD and vinyl box sets. Fans can pre-order and pre-save now HERE.

The record also features a post-humorous appearance of late Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, who passed away in March. Rossington reprised his role on Parton’s cover of Skynyrd’s classic “Free Bird” alongside Artimus Pyle and Ronnie Van Zant. Dolly also got Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to collaborate with her on The Beatles’ hit “Let It Be.” Other big names included on the album are GRAMMY® Award-winning country star Chris Stapleton, pop sensation Lizzo, and global superstar Pink.
