The British rockers join the likes of KISS, Journey, and Ozzy Osbourne on the famed LA stretch

Step inside, walk this way – down Hollywood Boulevard.
In 2026, rock icons Def Leppard are getting immortalized in Los Angeles with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The hitmakers will join other rock music greats like KISS, Journey, and Mötley Crüe, among others. They will also be keeping company with other British rock legends like Elton John, The Beatles, Sting, Queen, David Bowie, Billy Idol, Peter Frampton, and Ozzy Osbourne.
Def Leppard will receive the 2,825th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next Tuesday, October 9 at 11:30am PT [2:30pm ET/7:30pm GMT]. Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) President and CEO Bruce Resnikoff will be guest speakers at the ceremony, while Sirius XM radio personality Bob Buchmann will host the event. Def Leppard’s star is located at 1750 N. Vine Street, right in front of the historic Capitol Records building.
In addition to the news of their Walk of Fame Star, Def Leppard have new music on the way. In an exclusive interview with Planet Rock recently, singer Joe Elliott confirmed the band is working on their forthcoming 13th studio album. Speaking with Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony, Elliot said that the group may even release the record’s lead single as early as next February.
“We’re working through a new album right now, which won’t be out next year, but we may – and probably will – release a new song in time for Vegas [Las Vegas residency] and then release another one again for the British tour [in June]. That’s the plan that we have right now […]. So, we’re gonna kind of drip feed songs from the album and then it’ll [album] come out late ’26, early ’27 maybe.”
In February, Def Leppard are returning to Las Vegas for another residency. The rock icons are set to perform 12 shows throughout the month at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The band also booked residencies on The Strip back in 2013 and 2019.
Back in May, Def Leppard headlined an all-new rock music festival in Maryland. Boardwalk Rock, a two-day jaunt, is also featured Nickelback, Shinedown, and Rob Zombie, who replaced Mötley Crüe. Other featured acts included Halestorm, Bush, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Alice Cooper, 3 Doors Down, The Struts, Dorothy, Crossfade, Bret Michaels, and more. Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
Last summer, Def Leppard released their latest piece of material, “Just Like 73.” The track features a very special guest appearance by Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello. Stream the official audio below. The band will be releasing the track on a 7” vinyl on August 2. It will be available in a special color variant only through the band’s D2C store and in black at all retailers. Additionally, the band curated a few limited edition packages that feature an autographed insert and a t-shirt. Check out all the available versions below.
The all-new “Just Like 73” notably marks the first collaboration between the iconic rock titans and the legendary guitarist, sonic innovator, and co-founder of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. The single revolves around a classic Def Leppard stomp fueled by a robust stadium-size beat, thick riffing, and a signature chant, “Rock with me, just like 73!” Meanwhile, a knockout gang vocal gives way to a signature fret-scorching solo from Morello. The instantly recognizable whammy bar wheezes as he shreds at lightspeed into one last head-nodding hook.
Of the collaboration Joe Elliott shares, “It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time.”
“When I saw David Bowie on TV between 1972 and 1973, everything I thought I knew about music went from black and white to vivid technicolor,” Phil Collen adds. “Our song ‘Just Like 73’ represents that awakening.”
Def Leppard released a new album, Drastic Symphonies, last May. The record paired the band with London’s iconic The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It features some of Def Leppard’s greatest songs reimagined, as well as a few rare gems. The record was released on CD, 2-LP black vinyl, limited 2-LP colored vinyl, limited -LP picture disc, CD/Blu-Ray (Atmos) and digitally. The vinyl and Atmos versions will also feature an exclusive bonus track, “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad.”
