The Van Halen singer kicks off the run this spring

David Lee Roth is heading back out on the road this year. The Van Halen singer has announced a full 30-show tour across North America starting in the spring. Check out the full tour itinerary below, plus a link to grab tickets.
A ticket pre-sale begins tomorrow, Tuesday, January 6 at 10am local venue time. Fans can use the code ROTHROCKS to access the pre-sale. General tickets go on sale this Friday, January 9 at 10am.
David Lee Roth made his triumphant return to the stage at M3 Rock Festival in Maryland last year. His set was loaded with Van Halen classics, and received praise from fans and contemporaries like KISS frontman Paul Stanley. Last summer, Roth continued to ride the wave with a string of headlining tour dates. The Roth Show Tour launched on July 31 at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida and made stops in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, and more.
In 2022, David Lee Roth released two new songs – “Pointing at the Moon” and “Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway,“ a tribute to Van Halen. The latter is from a 2007 acoustic recording session with guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie). Also involved were drummer Greg Bissonette and keyboardist Brett Tuggle, who appeared on Roth’s second solo LP Skyscraper (Warner Bros. Records, 1988). In a 2021 interview with Guitar World, John 5 said that the session had resulted in a full album’s worth of material.
In 2023, former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar announced a full North American tour to play a bunch of Van Halen classics alongside original VH bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Joe Satriani. Additionally, Hagar extended the invite to Roth and founding drummer, Alex Van Halen.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Hagar declared that special guest appearances by musicians of note in every city the tour stops at could occur, and he also publicly invited his former Van Halen bandmate, founding drummer Alex Van Halen, and original singer David Lee Roth, to join him on stage during his tour next year.
“We’re gonna invite every musician in every town,” Hagar stated. “First of all, whenever you play, if there’s a guitar player in town, no matter what city it is, they come out to see Joe [Satriani], just like they used to do for Eddie [Van Halen]. So, if we’ve got other guitar players, we’ll get them involved. If Alex Van Halen wants to jump up, if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us, come on, motherfucker. You are welcome! This is about Van Halen.”
During an appearance the following day on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk, Hagar echoed his sentiment, saying, “From the bottom of my heart, he [David Lee Roth] would be so welcome.”
To the surprise of many, David Lee Roth responded in a statement provided exclusively to Van Halen News Desk.
“I’m ready to go,” Roth stated. “Let’s do this.”
Sadly, the pairing never came to fruition. But, Roth is going back out on tour and Hagar recently launched his Las Vegas residency. “Not in this lifetime,” Axl Rose once said about a classic Guns N’ Roses reunion – but then it happened. Perhaps Van Halen fans should hope that the same thing could happen here.
Rock and roll icon David Lee Roth, the voice of Van Halen, has left an indelible mark on rock music. As the frontman of the legendary band, Roth helped define an era with anthems like “Jump,” “Panama,” “Hot for Teacher,” and “Runnin’ with the Devil.” His high-energy performances and unique vocal style quickly made Van Halen one of the biggest rock bands of the 80s. With over 80 million records sold worldwide, the band’s impact on rock music remains unrivaled. Roth’s contributions were a pivotal part of Van Halen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Beyond Van Halen, Roth’s solo career showcased his unparalleled style and boundless energy, with hits that further solidified his place in rock history. Known for his larger-than-life presence and unforgettable vocals, Roth continues to captivate audiences and prove why he remains a true rock and roll legend.
