Storming The Stage at Carolina Rebellion with Joe Hottinger and Arejay Hale of Halestorm – Part II

Storming The Stage at Carolina Rebellion with Joe Hottinger and Arejay Hale of Halestorm

Even though the weather was hot and sunny on Saturday, there was a Storm rolling into Carolina Rebellion. Philly hard rockers Halestorm blew into Carolina on Saturday for an early afternoon set at the 2012 Rebellion. The band took the opportunity in front of a growing crowd of 30,000 (so far…) to play a lot of new material from their new album. I gotta give my boys and gal of Halestorm props for representing our hometown of Philly with pride! The band played a great show, closing with their first hit single and fan favorite anthem, “I Get Off.”
Shortly after their set, I got a chance to sit down with Arejay Hale (drums) to reflect on the bands set, discuss the new record, and much more. When talking about the band’s set, Arejay said they played a sloppy one, but I disagreed! The got up on stage and got everyone off. We also talked about the band’s current Mass Chaos Tour. Arejay said that the tour is going awesome, and it’s an amazing experience as a drummer to get to watch Shannon Larkin (drums, Godsmack) every night.
Halestorm is currently touring the U.S. on the Mass Chaos Tour with Godsmack and Staind. The band recently release their sophomore album, The Strange Case of…Halestorm, which debuted at #15 on Billboard Top 200 and #1 on Billboard Hard Rock. The first single, “Love Bites (So Do I)” is currently in heavy radio rotation. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Lzzy Hale has been a busy girl lately, loaning her powerful pipes to two songs on Black Stone Cherry’s latest album, Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea, and Adrenaline Mob’s cover of Duran Duran’s “Coming Undone” from their debut album, Omertà. In less that two weeks, the band returns to the festival circuit with a stop at Rock On The Range. Get ready to CRANK IT UP Ohio, ’cause there’s a Storm comin’.
