It is the band’s first new piece of material since 2024

After giving fans a short preview yesterday, Staind have released a brand new song called “Ghosts.” The track is reportedly the lead single from their upcoming ninth studio album. Watch the official music video below.
Staind released their latest album, Confessions of the Fallen, in 2023. It was their first release through their new label, BMG. The long awaited follow-up to the band’s 2011 self-titled LP, Confessions of the Fallen debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. A pair of singles made their way onto Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart – “Here and Now” and “Lowest in Me,” the latter of which gave Staind their first No. 1 hit since their 2011 song, “Not Again.”
After a sold out first leg, multi-platinum rockers Staind are extending their Break the Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour, celebrating the groundbreaking album that cemented their place in rock history. The second leg will once again feature Seether as direct support, with special guests Hoobastank and Hinder as openers, bringing together four defining forces of modern rock for another massive run next spring.
“We didn’t think one was enough, and based off how it’s been going…we were right,” the band said in a statement.
The second leg begins in March and this time around, Staind will make stops at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Santander Arena in Reading, Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, and more.
Their most notable album Break The Cycle, released in 2001, an RIAA certified 5x platinum, featured the anthemic single, “It’s Been Awhile,” one of the most played songs in modern rock radio history, spending 20 weeks at Number 1. In 2019 after a five-year hiatus, Staind reunited for some unforgettable festival performances, and a hometown reunion show that was recorded for the album Live: It’s Been Awhile. In September 2023, Staind released their eighth studio album and first in twelve years, Confessions of the Fallen, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Active Rock Album chart. The debut single from the album, “Lowest In Me,” and the second single, “Here and Now,” both reached #1 on the Active Rock Chart. One year later in September 2024, Staind digitally released Confessions of The Fallen (Deluxe) that contained three additional songs including “Better Days feat. Dorothy”, a radio version of the album track, and “Full of Emptiness.”
The band was formed in 1995 in their hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. Over the course of their career, the band has released seven studio albums and eight Top 10 singles, selling over 15 million albums worldwide. They have been called one of the defining bands of the post-grunge movement securing awards including Billboard Music Awards the MTV Video Music Awards among others.
