The band’s 11th studio LP ‘Everything Under the Sun’ arrives in the fall

Nickelback have unleashed a brand new song “Rattle the Cage.” The track – which features a very special guest appearance by John 5 on guitar – is from their forthcoming 11th studio album Everything Under the Sun which arrives in the fall. It follows the previously released “Bones for the Crows” which dropped back in March. Stream the official visualizer for “Rattle the Cage” below.
The forthcoming LP Everything Under the Sun comes out on October 30 through Virgin Music Group. It will be available for streaming, and physical CDs, cassettes, and vinyls. Limited edition vinyl variants will be available, plus merch bundles that include signed lyric posters. Check out the cover art and tracklisting below, plus a link to pre-order.
This isn’t Nickelback’s only new release. The band recently joined forces with Don Broco for their joint single “Nightmare Tripping.“ The tune is the title track for Don Broco’s forthcoming studio album, which came out on March 16 through Fearless Records. It followed the previously released singles “Euphoria Live Forever,” “Cellophane,” “Hype Man,” and “Disappear.”
Nickelback may also be working on another collaboration with Sammy Hagar and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
“Ok, here we are – the three best singers in rock ‘n’ roll,” Hagar says to the camera as the three embrace. “And you say, ‘What are those three guys doing?’ Well, it’s hard to say – but we’re just getting started.”
The person filming the clip again asked, “What are you guys doing?”
Sammy replied, “It’s hard to say. We’re figuring it out. We’re trying to figure out what we’re doing.”
Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante provided a bit more clarity in his Instagram post. He shared a photo of himself with Hagar and Kroeger in what appeared to be a recording studio, stating: “When you get a call to come over and play drums on a new song that these 2 are doing… you drop whatever it is and go. What a spontaneous thing and so much fun. Thank you both.”
Tommy Lee reposted a clip shot by his wife Brittany Furlan to his Instagram story of himself playing drums in what appears to be a rehearsal space. While the clip is clearly of Tommy behind a kit, Sammy referred to him as a “singer” in the video he shared on his social media. Could Lee also be lending his vocal talents to this new project? In the late 90s and early 00s, Tommy fronted is own band, Methods of Mayhem, and he continues to sing backup vocals for the Crüe today.
