Rising southern rockers Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown have been tapped as direct support for heavy metal icons AC/DC on the second U.S. leg of their Rock or Bust World Tour. The trek kicks off on February 2 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA and wraps up on April 4 at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tickets are on sale now via ACDC.com.
In 2013, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown released their seminal debut disc Wild Child. The album 
oozed pure, unfiltered rock ‘n’ roll reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Guns ‘N Roses, .38 Special, and others. It topped TheRockRevival.com’s list of The Top 50 Rock Albums of 2013, beating out the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Black Sabbath, John Mayer, Pearl Jam, Avenged Sevenfold, and more.
Back in November, the band released their much-anticipated sophomore effort The Wayside EP via John Varvatos/Repubic Records. They most recently supported the album with a run of shows supporting ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons on his first-ever solo tour which wrapped up on February 6.
Just over a year ago, AC/DC opened the 57th Annual Grammy Awards with an explosive two-track medley. The band performed their new hit single “Rock or Bust” and their iconic smash “Highway To Hell”. The performance featured the return of former drummer Chris
Slade, who was with the band from 1989-1994 and played drums on their 1990 album The Razor’s Edge. Slade is set to accompany the band on their upcoming world tour in light of founding drummer Phil Rudd‘s ongoing legal issues.
AC/DC’s new disc Rock or Bust (Columbia Records) debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200. Stevie Young, nephew of lead guitarist Angus Young and former rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, makes his debut with the band. Stevie played rhythm guitar on the new album and will tour with the band in 2015 in place of Malcolm who sadly retired from the band due to illness. The new album was produced by Brendan O’Brien and mixed by Mike Fraser, both of whom worked on the band’s previous effort Black Ice. – by Matt Bishop
