After releasing their eleventh studio album, Dropout Boogie, on May 13, 2022, The Black Keys — the Akron, Ohio duo of singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney — continued to cement their place as one of modern rock’s most enduring acts. Dropout Boogie arrived on the eve of the twentieth anniversary of their debut and showcased the band’s signature blend of blues rock and garage-tinged swagger, with lead singles like “Wild Child” and “It Ain’t Over” capturing both radio attention and critical praise; the album also earned Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance. To support the release, they launched the Dropout Boogie Tour, a U.S. trek with over 30 dates featuring support from acts such as Band of Horses, Ceramic Animal, Early James, and The Velveteers, marking their first major touring cycle since 2019 and reaffirming their status as a powerful live draw.

Building on that momentum, The Black Keys returned in 2024 with their twelfth studio album, Ohio Players, released on April 5, 2024. This record continued to explore the duo’s blend of gritty blues roots and rock energy, and featured standout tracks including the Grammy-nominated “Beautiful People (Stay High)” alongside a stirring cover of William Bell’s “I Forgot to Be Your Lover.” Ohio Players demonstrated the band’s relentless creative drive more than two decades into their career and reaffirmed their ability to evolve sonically while remaining rooted in the raw, riff-driven sound that first won them acclaim.

Following Ohio Players, The Black Keys carried their creative streak into 2025 with the release of their thirteenth studio album, No Rain, No Flowers, which arrived on August 8, 2025. Featuring multiple singles such as “The Night Before,” “Babygirl,” and the title track, the album expanded on the band’s rock-and-blues foundation with broader stylistic touches and lyrical depth, underscoring Auerbach and Carney’s enduring partnership and artistic growth.

Throughout these years, The Black Keys balanced studio work with extensive touring and festival appearances, navigating the changing live-music landscape post-pandemic and solidifying their reputation as both recording artists and a must-see live act. Across this period from 2022 onward, they reaffirmed their status as one of rock’s most resilient and inventive duos, continuing to blend classic influences with contemporary energy while exploring new musical territories.
