New wave heavy metallers Avenged Sevenfold have announced their Hail To The King U.S. Tour with special guests Deftones and Ghost B.C. The massive arena trek kicks off on October 3 in Chicago, IL, and concludes on October 26 in Las Vegas, NV. Venues and ticket information will be announced very soon. Deftones are still touring off their huge hit album, Koi No Yokan, which recently garnered the band the Revolver Golden God Award for Album of The Year. Ghost B.C. are still supporting their latest effort, INFESTISSUMAM, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock Chart. Avenged Sevenfold are poised and ready to unleash their 6th studio album, Hail To The King, which drops on August 27. Today, they released the album’s first single and title track, “Hail To The King”, which can be heard in the above YouTube video. The Rock Revival proudly welcomes the band to headline Musikfest 2013 in Bethlehem, PA just 16 days before on August 11.
In 2010, Avenged Sevenfold released Nightmare. Arguably the best effort of their career, the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and sold over 163,000 copies in it’s first week of sales. On January 20, 2011, Avenged Sevenfold announced that Arin IIejay would be the band’s touring drummer. That summer, the band headlined the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, with supporting acts Three Days Grace, Seether, Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate, and more. In October 2011, the band co-headlined the 48 Hours Festival in Las Vegas, NV along with Korn, Godsmack, and Five Finger Death Punch. In November, they embarked on a brief headlining tour, The Buried Alive Tour, with special guests Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead, and Black Veil Brides. The band took a break from touring in 2012 to relax and write. In April 2012, they took to the stage again, touring through Asia, and played Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival in Atlantic City, NJ in June. On September 24, they released a new single, “Carry On”, which was featured in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and is nominated for the award for Best Song at this year’s Revolver Golden God Awards on May 2. Since then, the band has been writing music for their new album, which frontman M. Shadowstold Revolver Magazine, has a “Zeppelin-meets-Sabbath” sound to it. The recording process began in January 2013, Avenged Sevenfold’s sixth studio LP is expected to drop sometime in the coming few months. In addition to headlining Musikfest 2013, A7X are also confirmed to play Rock in Rio in Brazil this year. The band will co-headline the final night of the epic 7-day festival along with Iron Maiden and Slayer. With 2 Top 10 Billboard 200 albums, 7 Revolver Golden God Awards, 1 Kerrang! Award, and over 8 million albums sold worldwide, Avenged Sevenfold are one of the definitive bands of their generation, and are going to continue to cement their legacy with this new album.
Deftones have been one of the premiere alternative metal bands in the land for almost 20 years. The band’s third album, White Pony. The album massive success, and garnered much acclaim from fans and critics alike. It debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 178,000 copies in it’s first week out. It’ produced one of the band’s biggest hits ever, “Change (In The House of Flies)”, and “Elite” won the band the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2001. In 2002, the album was certified platinum. The follow-up, 2003’s self-titled LP Deftones, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. A much heavier outing for the band, it remained on the charts for nine consecutive weeks and the band received much praise for going heavier and harder. After six long years of hard touring accompanied with writing and recording, Deftones released their fifth album, Saturday Night Wrist, in 2006. The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200. The band was on the road relentlessly in 2006 and 2007. Deftones returned with 2010’s Diamond Eyes. The record hit #6 on the Billboard Top 200, and the band toured with Alice In Chains and Mastodon on the Blackdiamondskye Tour. The band took much less time in between albums this time around, and in November 2012, they released Koi No Yokan. Deftones have a long road ahead of them, literally, as they plan to be touring well into 2014. This summer, Deftones made appearances at Ozzfest Japan, Caronlina Rebellion, and made a co-headlining stand at Metallica‘s Orion Music + More Festival in Detroit, MI along with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, and Bassnectar. The band is closing out the summer at Reading and Leeds Festivals in August. The band’s latest album, Koi No Yokan, debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 65,000 copies in it’s first week of sales. The album produced two Top 5 Rock Radio singles, and garnered the Revolver Golden God award for Album of The Year.
Ghost B.C. have established themselves as one of the more unique live acts in metal today. In 2010, the band played England’s Download Festival. The band released their second full-length LP, INFESTISSUMAM, on April 16 via Loma Vista Recordings. The offering debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart and SPIN Magazine regarded INFESTISSUMAM as “one of the most anticipated heavy metal records of 2013.” Ghost B.C. recently wrapped up their Haze Over North America tour, which was enormously successfull with numerous sell-outs. Last summer, the band was featured at Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival in Atlantic City, NJ.
