U2 ANNOUNCE 2015 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE WORLD TOUR

U2 2014Today, U2 announced their 2015 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE World Tour. The trek kicks off on May 14, 2015 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC and wraps up with a two-night stand at Bercy Arena in Paris, France. Every stop on the massive tour will feature at least two shows at the same arena, sometimes four. The trek also marks the first time the band will play indoor arenas in a decade. “We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two, and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience,” said frontman Bono. “More to be revealed!” Ticket pre-sales begin on Thursday, December 5, and all on-sale dates and purchasing information can be found at U2.com/Tour. U2 recently performed at the 2014 MTV European Music Awards back on November 9 at SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. It was the band’s fourth performance at the EMAs, and their first since 2009 in Berlin, Germany.

Back in September, U2 surprised fans with the free release of their thirteenth studio album Songs ofU2 Songs of Innocence Innocence. The band worked with renowned producer Danger Mouse, as well as Paul Epworth, Declan Gaffney, Flood, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. It’s the follow-up to 2009’s No Line On The Horizon, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and #1 on nearly every other top album chart around the globe. On Monday, U2 performed at the World Aids Day Concert at New York City’s Times Square on Monday. Rock icon Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin filled in for Bono, who is recovering from surgery due to a bike accident a few weeks ago. Back in January, U2 released their single “Invisible” and the track was available for a 24-hour free download. For every download, Bank of America donated $1 to the (RED) for the fight against AIDS. U2 frontman Bono co-founded (RED) in 2006. – by Matt Bishop
