The Gaslight Anthem live 2022
The Gaslight Anthem [The Rock Revival]

The Gaslight Anthem are going from the arena stage to the ice rink in later this month. The New Jersey rock legends will perform their hit “Howl” – beloved by New Jersey Devils’ fans as the team’s goal song for several seasons – live during the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™ regular-season outdoor game between the Devils and  Philadelphia Flyers at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, February 17 at 8pm ET. Fans can watch on ABC, ESPN+, SN360, TVAS2. Portions of performance will be featured in the broadcast.

From their acclaimed 2012 album Handwritten, The Gaslight Anthem’s song “Howl” has been the New Jersey Devils’ goal song since the 2015-16 season and will be performed live after any goal scored by the Devils during the Saturday, Feb. 17 game against the Flyers. The critically-acclaimed band, hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, will also perform a set of their songs during the first intermission of the game.

This has been added to the previously announced pre-game concert headlined by GRAMMY-Award nominated group Jonas Brothers, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET prior to the Feb. 17 game at MetLife Stadium. Tickets to the game, available for purchase via Ticketmaster, include the pre-game Jonas Brothers concert and The Gaslight Anthem’s performance.

“To have your song played after every time the hometown team scores is such an incredible honor and we can’t wait to play it live when our beloved Devils score in their Stadium Series game,” said The Gaslight Anthem lead singer Brian Fallon. “For a Jersey band, there’s no greater place to play than MetLife Stadium – we can’t wait!”

Additionally, the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series will feature a second regular-season outdoor game on Sunday, February 18 between the New York Islanders and New York Rangers at 3pm ET. The platinum-selling pop rock outfit AJR will be playing live during intermission of the divisional game between in-state rivals the New York Rangers and the New York the NHL Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, February 18 at 3pm ET. Fans can watch on ABC and ESPN+, SN and TVAS.

The Gaslight Anthem released their sixth studio album, History Books, last October via Rich Mahogany Recordings. The record was produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Peter Katis (The National, Kurt Vile) at his Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It is available on 180g gatefold black vinyl, exclusive “10 Bands/One Cause” pink vinyl, CD, and digital download. The group also put together several bundles that include a hat, t-shirt, and work jacket.

The album’s title track features fellow New Jersey legend, Bruce Springsteen.

“When Bruce Springsteen said I should write a duet for us, I think my head exploded,” Fallon said. “It will never get old to me that one of the greatest songwriters in the world, and one of my hero’s voices, will forever be captured in a song I wrote at a small wooden desk, in October, in New Jersey.”

AJR, born and raised New Yorkers who recently released their fifth studio album, The Maybe Man, are set to headline NYC’s iconic Madison Square Garden on the The Maybe Man Tour this summer.
