The festival returns to Historic Crew Stadium in Ohio next May
Next May, Sonic Temple is returning to Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio for its biggest year yet. As previously announced, Metallica are headlining two nights, performing two unique sets. Additionally, the metal legends will be joined by fellow headliners Korn and Linkin Park at Sonic Temple 2025. Other featured acts include Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Bullet For My Valentine, Bad Omens, Incubus, Chevelle, Alice Cooper, Mastodon, Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White, Trivium, GWAR, Suicidal Tendencies, and many more.

Set for May 8, 9, 10, and 11 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, 2025 installment will see more than 100 bands will take the stage during the four-day destination event, marking its biggest year ever. The festival will feature a massive lineup of rock royalty including Linkin Park with new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong; they will make their debut at Sonic Temple headlining on Saturday in one of the band’s first shows in seven years.
Thursday night at Sonic Temple will feature headliner Korn, along with Bad Omens and Three Days Grace. On Friday, Metallica will be supported by Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper, and on Saturday Linkin Park will be supported by Incubus and I Prevail. Metallica will close out the weekend on Sunday night with Alice In Chains and Chevelle.

A lot of unique performances are happening over the four-day jaunt. Three Days Grace will be reuniting with original vocalist Adam Gontier, Crossfade are reuniting for their first performance in 13 years, and Acid Bath will be reuniting for a rare appearance.
Three Days Grace’s Adam Gontier said, “I couldn’t be more excited to not only be back together with the rest of the band, but having Three Days Grace joining all our friends and amazing bands at Sonic Temple as our first festival appearance is going to be a very special night.”
Seven Hours After Violet, a new band from System of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, will be making one of their first U.S. festival appearances.
GWAR are celebrating their 40th anniversary, while Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium are playing special 20th anniversary sets for their seminal albums The Poison and Ascendancy, respectively.

This includes a brand-new Rock Royalty Reserved Pass with a dedicated lounge and reserved seats for the first time in the history of the festival, as well as commemorative gifts, all of which offers the best way to experience the festival. Select single day offerings, 4-day Columbus Owners Club, and RV camping passes are sold out. Fans can book an official Sonic Temple festival hotel via Jampack, offering access to nearby hotels, shuttle service and other exclusives.
Sonic Temple passes can be secured starting at $1 down (or 10% of the total purchase), with almost 6 months to pay them off in full. Service fees on all pass purchases include a charity fee for the DWP Foundation, which gives back to local and national charities throughout the year.
In addition to Metallica’s anticipated performances, fans will be able to enjoy a variety of Metallica onsite experiences all weekend long, including the BLACKENED Whiskey Bar and BLACKENED Burger Bar, featuring a collaboration between BLACKENED Whiskey, celebrity chef Chris Santos and Metallica. The BLACKENED Burger Bar is where exceptional spirits, culinary creations, and the power of music collide in a fusion of flavors and rock, receiving rave reviews as the favorite fan experience and food selection of DWP 2024 festivals.
A favorite onsite haunt, The Dive Bar, will also be back, along with the Sonic Temple live art program, which will be bigger than ever in 2025. Featured artists from last year’s art program include Terry Urban (who will be designing a limited-edition hoodie for Sonic Temple 2025), Jay Howell, Monster Steve, Lamour Supreme and AWAL.

Metallica are running it back next year. The heavy metal icons confirmed Thursday plans for 21 additional tour dates across North America starting next spring as part of their record-breaking M72 World Tour. The shows will feature very special guests Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Ice Nine Kills, and Suicidal Tendencies on select dates. On this run, Metallica will be performing their No Repeat Weekends that feature two entirely different sets in the same city, as well as a few stand-alone gigs.
In 2025, Metallica will also be bringing the M72 World Tour to Australia and New Zealand, with dates being announced in the near future.
Next year’s run will see the band’s first Nashville shows in five years on May 1 and May 3 at Nissan Stadium, as well as Metallica’s return to Tampa after 15 years on June 6 and 8 at Raymond James Stadium. M72 has also confirmed its much anticipated Bay Area hometown play, to take place June 20 and 22 with the band’s debut performances at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
In a new twist, M72 2025 will feature several single shows bringing the tour’s full production, with its massive in-the-round stage, to venues including two college football stadiums: JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York on April 19, and Metallica’s first ever visit to Blacksburg, Virginia, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. The May 7 show at Lane Stadium will mark the culmination of 20+ years of “Enter Sandman” playing as the Hokies take the field.
Linkin Park are in the midst of their first global tour dates in seven years, as part of their new From Zero Tour. Very special guests for this run include grandson, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Helmet, and Jean Dawson on select dates. Linkin Park made their triumphant return to the road earlier this month in Los Angeles on September 11. The band proceeded to play shows in Brooklyn, New York and Hamburg, Germany. Tonight, Linkin Park take the stage at the world-famous O2 in London, UK.
In addition to the live shows, Linkin Park have also confirmed a brand new studio album. The upcoming record is titled From Zero, and is set to arrive on November 15. It will be available for streaming and digital download, as well as on CD, standard blue vinyl, and limited edition blue and orchid splatter vinyl.
