(TRR) – Heavy metal titans Metallica have added a new run of tour dates with special guests Slipknot. The additional WorldWired Tour dates kick off on October 17 at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia and wrap up on October 31 at Mt. Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 18 via LiveNation.com.AU.
Slipknot supported Metallica in 2004 on the band’s Madly In Anger With The World Tour.
Earlier this week, Slipknot announced their return North American stages this summer. The first Knotfest Road Show kicks off on July 26 at the Shoreline Ampitheater in Mountain View, CA and features support from Volbeat, Gojira, and Behemoth.
Metallica are still touring in support of their latest LP Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2016 and is now certified platinum. It is Metallica’s sixth consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. The follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning Death Magnetic, it is the band’s first release on their own label Blackened Recordings.
