In the lore of heavy metal, only a handful of artists can claim to have changed history, and even fewer can say they’ve done so twice. Enter Apocalyptica, and one of metal’s greatest, most unlikely success stories. By any account, it’s the stuff of legend, and it’s about to come full circle.

Tickets will be available starting with a Citi pre-sale beginning Tuesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. local time. The general on-sale begins Friday, June 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. local time. Citi is the official card of the Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2 Tour. Additionally, the band will be sending out a message to their Patreon family and a newsletter to all registered people today, June 11, with ticket links and a secret password. There will also be VIP Meet & Greet packages available which will include upgrades like exclusive merchandise and early entry to the venue.

Formed in 1993 at the world-renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, Apocalyptica began as a loving, lo-fi nod to Metallica from four classically trained musicians. Their debut album, Plays Metallica By Four Cellos, released in 1996, was a game-changer. As founding band leader Eicca Toppinen explains, “We just loved Metallica and we wanted to play it with the instruments we were able to play, which just happened to be cellos. We played a metal club in Helsinki, and then we were asked to do an album. Five months after it was released, we were opening for Metallica. It’s still unbelievable to me.”

Fast forward to today, and Apocalyptica has released eight rapturously received records, sold six million albums, and toured relentlessly. Now, they continue their unique homage to Metallica with Plays Metallica, Vol. 2, featuring powerful collaborations with Metallica members and using original tracks from the legendary Cliff Burton. The album came out June 7, 2024 to rave reviews.

Earlier this year, Nita Strauss was back out on the road performing headlining shows and select dates alongside Mammoth WVH. She released her latest album The Call to The Void in 2023 through Sumerian Records. The lead single “Dead Inside” featuring Disturbed’s David Draiman arrived in 2021 and shot straight to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The instrumental “Summer Storm” followed, and then “The Wolf You Feed” featuring Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz. The official video for the track has amassed 8.5 million views on YouTube. Three more singles – “The Golden Trail” with In Flames’ Anders Fridén, “Victorious” with Dorothy Martin, and “Winner Takes All” with long time collaborator Alice Cooper have all garnered favorable attention from fans.

“The response has been amazing,” Strauss said of fans’ reaction to the record at her live shows on our Talk This Way Podcast. “It’s especially special for me because, you know, this technically was a pandemic album for me. You know, I wrote and recorded most of this during the quarantine period and it’s taken a long time to come out. We’ve got a lot of guests, a lot of sort of ‘red tape’ to get through with having this many people feature on a record. And, for me, the album was already feeling like it was gone, like it was over and done before it even came out. And being out on the road playing these songs live and hearing people’s reactions to hearing them for the first time, it’s reinvigorated my excitement and my fire for this upcoming record. It’s coming out in eight days from the day that we’re doing this interview, and I have this renewed fire and excitement of, ‘Yes, I cannot wait for the world to hear this record.’”
