The pop-country superstar took a stab at one of Billy Idol’s biggest hits
Pop-country superstar Maren Morris has revealed the video for her cover of Billy Idol’s multi-platinum hit, “Dancing with Myself.”
The hit song “Dancing with Myself” was originally recorded by Generation X, Billy Idol’s punk band, back in 1980. Just a year later, Idol went solo. He remixed the song, and re-released it under his own moniker. It became an international hit, and nabbed three MTV Video Music Award nominations.
Maren’s last album was the critically-acclaimed, Humble Quest. It came out back in 2022, debuting at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and No. 21 on the Billboard 200. Last year, she released the stand-alone single, “42,” with Diplo, and an EP, The Bridge.
Billy Idol’s last album was 2014’s Kings & Queens of the Underground. The record hit No. 9 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, and No. 5 on Top Alternative Albums.
