The Mayans forewarned the world that the year 2012 would bring the Apocalypse upon us. They were right. It was announced yesterday that shock rockers Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson will join forces this fall and embark on the co-headlining Twins of Evil Tour. Zombie and Manson last shared a stage at Rock On The Range 2012 in Columbus, OH back in May.
“Finally! Why did the most obvious tour take so long to happen? Who knows? Who cares? It’s happening now,” said Zombie. “If good taste is the chief enemy of great art, then we should be able to fill the Louvre with this fucking tour. Be prepared for something wicked this way a-coming.” Manson added, “I have sympathy for the Whore of Babylon that gave birth to these twins of evil, and this abomination of a tour. There is no babysitter, and there is no repairing her womb. If Rob Zombie doesn’t fuck you up, than I surely will. Hide all drugs and firearms…I’m coming to town.”
J Devil, the DJ alter ego of Korn‘s frontman Jonathan Davis, will support the Manson/Zombie dates with his chaotic electro-metal. “I like to think of J Devil as the ‘anti-christ’ of EDM,” said Davis. “To play alongside Zombie and Manson is going to be a fucking sinister night all around, and an unbelievable theatrical experience. I can’t wait.”
Marilyn Manson’s eighth full-length album, Born Villain, debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, and hit #1 on both the Heavy Album Chart and the Independent Album Chart. The record is Manson’s return to form, and his best outing since 2000’s Holy Wood (In The Shadow of The Valley of Death). Rob Zombie is still touring off his 2010 album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2. The album debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200. Guitar virtuoso John 5 co-wrote much of the record with Zombie, and is expected to play an even more intricate role on Zombie’s next studio album, scheduled for release sometime in 2013. In the meantime, Zombie will be dropping Mondo Sex Head on August 7. The remix album features new and unique remixes of Rob Zombie classics by some of today’s top DJs, including Jonathan “J Devil” Davis, Photek, the Bloody Beetroots, Kraddy, Drumcorps, and Ki: Theory and will be released via Universal Music Enterprises/UMe. Fans can download one of the new songs, “Thunder Kiss ’65 (J-Devil Number of the Beast Remix),” from iTunes now.
Both Zombie and Manson are expected to play full sets, with full stage production. Both acts will be going all out with pyro, fire, huge LED screens, on-stage theatrics, and more; a full-metal onslaught of horror. This is a tour for the ages, and one not to be missed.
