Red Hot Chili Peppers to Release 18 New Tracks from “I’m With You” Sessions
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been busy lately, to say the least. Since the release of their latest full-length LP, I’m With You, the band has embarked on a massive world tour, released a covers EP, and been inducted into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. I’m With You was released in August 2011, and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. The album sold 229,000 copies in it’s first week of sales. But after all this, the Chili Peppers aren’t done yet.
Over the next 6 months, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be dispensing 18 previously unreleased B-sides from the I’m With You sessions. Each of the songs will be available via both digital copy and on seven-inch vinyl (two sides per seven-inch). The first pair of sides – “Strange Man” on the A-side and “Long Progression” on the B-side – is set to be released on August 14, 2012. The second pair of sides – Magpies and Victorian Machinery – is set for a special release on September 11, 2012. The third pair of sides – “Never Is A Long Time” and “Love Of Your Life” – will be release on October 2, 2012. The fourth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released November 6, 2012. The fifth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released December 4, 2012 and the sixth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released December 18, 2012. The final two releases will be released in early 2013.
Each of the nine seven-inch vinyl releases will feature special cover artwork by Kelsey Brookes (www.kelseybrookes.com). Brookes’ work has appeared in many art shows, art fairs, and magazines (GQ, Modern Painters, Juxtapoz, Beautiful Decay, Dazed and Confused, more). After the release of the final vinyl, fans will be able to combined all the records to create one larger piece of artwork.
