Monster Magnet Set To Perform Entire ‘Spine of God’ Album On Fall Tour

Monsters of rock, Monster Magnet, are set to perform their entire debut LP, Spine of God, on a fall tour this November. In celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary, Monster Magnet are hitting the road for the first time in over a year. This isn’t the first Monster Magnet album to be performed in it’s entirety. On their 2011 European Tour, the band performed the whole Dopes of Infinity album. Monster Magnet are currently in the studio working on their new album, follow-up to 2010’s Mastermind.

Monster Magnet are part of a recent rock ‘n’ roll trend of treating audiences to performances of albums in their entirety. On the 2010 American Carnage Tour, Slayer and Megadeth each performed their classic albums Seasons In The Abyss and Rust In Peace, respectively, in their entirety. Metallica has been hitting the festival circuit in Europe, most recently this past weekend at Download Festival 2012, at which they played Metallica (The Black Album) in it’s entirety. In 2 weeks, at the inaugural installment of their very own festival, Orion Music + More Festival, Metallica will headline both nights of the weekend-long event, playing Metallica (The Black Album) and their classic Ride The Lightning in their entirety. Also this summer, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd will be touring, performing (for the first time ever), the band’s whole 1979 epic album The Wall. It is the first time ever that the album has ever been played in it’s entirety. – by Matt Bishop
