The band is reuniting to replace Jane’s Addiction at the festival
Porno For Pyros are reuniting for their first show in 26 years. The group is set to perform at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL this weekend. They will take the place of Jane’s Addiction, who can no longer perform due to guitarist Dave Navarro recovering from COVID-19.
“While we’re saddened that Jane’s Addiction can no longer join us, we are beyond excited to have Porno For Pyros perform live for the first time in 26 years on our stage this weekend,” a statement from Welcome to Rockville promoter Danny Wimmer Presents read.
“The gang and the government are no different,” Jane’s Addition frontman Perry Farrell said in a statement. “That makes me 1%. Rockville, although we are blue that Jane’s cannot be with you at this time due to Dave’s long bout with COVID, I am still coming to Daytona, bringing to you for the first time in 26 years Porno For Pyros Featuring myself, Perry Farrrell, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefeno and Mike Watt. We’ll play some Jane’s songs for you as well, but for now let’s recall: My boat’s capsized it’s gonna sink to the bottom. I can see the lights on the shore.”
Welcome to Rockville is set for this weekend, May 19-22, and will feature KISS, Korn, Guns N’ Roses, and Nine Inch Nails who are filling in for Foo Fighters after the tragic passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
