Nu metal mainstays P.O.D. have unleashed a new song “Afraid to Die.” The track features a very special guest appearance by none other than Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmayluk. Stream the official music video below, directed by J.T. Ibanez and Parke Fox.

The track was born on the tour bus while P.O.D. and Jinjer were trekking across the U.S. last year.

“‘Afraid to Die’ is a combination of cryptic and triumphant melodies,” says P.O.D. guitarist Marcos Curiel. “It has storytelling rhymes and chugged verses, and a wide open, melodic yet semi-morbid, chorus. It’s anthemic In every sense of the word.”

He continues, “Our dear friend Tatiana Shmayluk offers her unique approach and we had incredible musical chemistry with her. This is P.O.D. hitting the human core of our existence and dealing with love, fear, integrity, and most of all, family and friends. It’s ultimately an abundance of love and life.”

Ukrainian metallers Jinjer have been making some serious noise Stateside. In addition to their 2022 headlining tour, they joined Disturbed as special guests on their Take Back Your Life Tour over the summer. The group released their latest LP Wallflowers in 2021 through Napalm Records. GRAMMY® nominees P.O.D. released their tenth album Circles in 2018. The band is reportedly slated to releases their new album, Veritas, early next year.
