In April, Coachella returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival grounds are fresh off the inaugural Power Trip, which saw titans of hard rock – Metallica, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tool, and Guns N’ Roses – rip through blistering sets in the desert. While Coachella certainly caters to a different audience, there’s still a few solid rock and alternative acts on the bill, including Blur, Deftones, Sublime, Bleachers, Taking Back Sunday, and The Aquabats. There’s another act, though, that will sure be intriguing for fans.

At Coachella this year, alt-rock legends No Doubt are reuniting for their first live performance in nearly a decade. They seemingly billed as headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler The Creator, and Doja Cat, but it is unclear when they will play and where exactly they’ll be in the lineup. No Doubt formed in Anaheim, California in 1986. After inking a deal with Interscope Records, they released their self-titled debut album in 1992. Their third album, 1995’s diamond-certified Tragic Kingdom, remains the crown jewel of their discography. The record peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the UK’s Rock and Metal Albums chart. The follow-up, 2000’s Return of Saturn, hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and went platinum.

The group released one more album in 2001 and mounted a co-headlining tour with Blink-182 in 2004 before going on hiatus. They returned in 2008 and released their sixth album, Push and Shove, in 2012. No Doubt performed sporadically over the next few years, before going on indefinite hiatus again in 2015.
