My Chemical Romance have marched their last parade. Today via their website, the band announced that they are disbanding. There is no word yet whether or not this is a temporary hiatus or a permanent disbandment. Throughout their 12-year career, the band only released four studio albums. Their 2006 effort, The Black Parade, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, and earned the band a Grammy Nomination. The album certified platinum soon after. The announcement is below:

We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end.
