Modest Mouse Announce 2021 U.S. Tour

The band also premiered their new song “Leave a Light On”

Modest Mouse have announced a 2021 U.S tour. The trek kicks off on July 30 at The Sylvee in Madison, WI and wraps up on October 22 at Rabbit Rabbit in Asheville, NC. Future Islands will serve as special guests. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 28 HERE.

Before the tour, Modest Mouse are set to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

The tour is in support of the band’s forthcoming album The Golden Casket. It is their first studio effort since 2015’s Strangers Ourselves which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums. It featured their #1 Alternative radio single “Lampshades on Fire.”

The new album arrives on July 25 via Epic Records. Fans can pre-order/Pre-save The Golden Casket HERE.

Today, Modest Mouse shared a new song from the album “Leave a Light On” which can be streamed above.

The Golden Casket heralds another new chapter in the band’s unpredictable evolution. Produced with Dave Sardy and Jacknife Lee in Los Angeles and in Modest Mouse’s studio in Portland, the album hovers in the liminal space between raw punk power and experimental studio science, frontman Isaac Brock explores themes ranging from the degradation of our psychic landscapes and invisible technology, to fatherhood.

The twelve tracks behave like amorphous organisms, undergoing dramatic mutations and mood swings that speak to the chronic tug-of-war between hope and despair that plays out in Brock’s head.
