The band recently wrapped up the first North American leg of their M72 Tour
Just as they wrapped up the first North American leg of their M72 World Tour, Metallica have added some festival appearances to their 2024 itinerary. Metallica are still arguably the most coveted hard rock headliners on the festival circuit, no matter what country. Last summer, they headlined the 20th edition of Download in the UK alongside Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon. With their latest album 72 Seasons garnering them three GRAMMY® Award nominations last week and their world tour shattering venue attendance records, Metallica are still in high demand for the top slot at major festivals.
Next May, Metallica are set to headline I-Days in Milan, Italy in May alongside Green Day, Sum 41, and more yet to be announced. In June, the band is taking over Tons of Rock in Olso, Norway with Judas Priest, Tool, Greta Van Fleet, and others. Passes for I-Days go on sale on Monday, November 20, but My Life Nation members will have access to a pre-sale on November 17, both beginning at 12pm CET. Four-day tickets for Tons of Rock Festival are already on sale, and single day passes go on sale this Friday, November 17.
In 2024, Metallica resume their M72 World Tour, beginning with two shows at Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany on 24 May and 26 May. It will be interesting to see if they finally break out a song or two that they have still never played live. After headlining shows in Finland, Poland, Denmark, and Spain, the band will return to North America in August to kick off another leg at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Last week, Metallica three GRAMMY® Award nominations – Best Rock Performance for “Lux Æterna,” “Best Metal Performance for “72 Seasons,” and their album 72 Seasons is up for Best Rock Album along with Foo Fighters, Greta Van Fleet, Paramore, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Metallica wrapped up their 2023 touring commitments last week with a pair of shows at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
