In a romance that has captured the attention of fans around the world, Italian rock frontman Damiano David of Måneskin and American actress-singer Dove Cameron have taken their relationship to the next level with a confirmed engagement. The couple, who first sparked dating rumors in 2023, made their love official and public before ultimately celebrating their commitment to one another with an Instagram announcement on January 3, 2026. In her heartfelt post, Cameron — best known for her work on Liv and Maddie and as a recording artist — shared photos of them together and showcased a dazzling engagement ring, captioning the moment as her “favorite part of being alive.”

The seeds of this romance were planted years earlier, with their first meeting occurring in 2022 at the MTV Video Music Awards, where both were nominated in the Best New Artist category. Though they didn’t connect deeply at that initial encounter, that early chance meeting set the stage for future moments.

Their paths crossed again in 2023 amid rising speculation. In September 2023, fans noticed Cameron at a Måneskin concert at Madison Square Garden, marking the first public hint of a connection between the two. Shortly afterward, they were seen leaving a venue together in Brazil, and by late November the pair were photographed sharing a kiss on a beach in Australia, confirming that a warm relationship was blossoming.

The following year saw their relationship gradually unfold in the public eye. In February 2024, Cameron and David made their red carpet debut as a couple at Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy Gala, sealing any lingering doubts with a kiss in front of photographers and leading Cameron to post sweet moments with David on social media. They continued to show up at high-profile events together — from Lakers games to fashion weeks and the 2024 Met Gala — giving fans genuine glimpses into their support for one another. (People.com)

Cameron has spoken fondly about David’s personality in interviews, describing him as a “beautiful, sensitive soul” and recalling their early date as an eight-hour, slow-burn conversation that deepened their connection. Their closeness has been punctuated by social tributes and affectionate Instagram posts, particularly on their second anniversary in October 2025, when Cameron celebrated their time together as “the 2 best years of my life,” and David echoed that their relationship is the “best part of being alive.”

Rumors of engagement first gained traction in late 2025, when Cameron was spotted in Sydney wearing a sizeable diamond ring while walking with David, sparking speculation that a proposal had occurred around their anniversary. Those rumors proved true with the couple’s official announcement at the start of 2026, delighting fans and marking a milestone in one of pop culture’s most talked-about relationships.

As they look ahead toward what comes next, Damiano David and Dove Cameron’s journey — from early industry events to an intimate proposal and public declaration of love — stands as a testament to a cross-continental romance that has flourished under both spotlight and privacy, marrying rock-and-roll flair with Hollywood charm.
