(TRR) It is going to be a big year for Machine Head in 2018. The new year will see the release of the heavy metal juggernaut’s new studio album Catharsis in January and a world tour to support it. The band will kick things off with a North American run from January to March.
“It’s been far too long since we’ve demolished venues in America,” said frontman Robb Flynn. “We have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album Catharsis but now it’s time for Machine Head to go melt some faces.”
The tour will follow the same format as their previous run An Evening with Machine Head and will see the band performing lengthy headlining sets with no opening act(s). Tickets go on sale Friday, September 22 at 10:00am local time via MachineHead1.com.
The band’s new album Catharsis was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA with producer Zack Ohren. It will be distributed by Nuclear Blast. Machine Head’s last effort, 2014’s Bloodstone & Diamonds, performed will commercially. The disc peaked at #21 on the Billboard Top 200, #4 on Top Rock, and #2 on Top Hard Rock.
