Fresh off their televised New Years Eve performance, Green Day have released a brand new single,”One Eyed Bastard.” The track follows the previously released songs “Dilemma,” “The American Dream is Killing Me,” and “Look Ma, No Brains!” Stream the official audio visualizer below now.

“One Eyed Bastard started off as just a riff that I had – a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of riff. Lyrically, I was just reflecting on bad times in life,” shared Billie Joe Armstrong. “That’s the thing about nostalgia, sometimes you think, “That was an awful time.” Everybody’s got that ugly place in their life where they have to deal with ugly thoughts – it could be like revenge or whatever. Thankfully, I have an outlet in songwriting.”

Green Day recently confirmed their Saviors Tour for next year. The North American run kicks off on July 29 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. and wraps up on September 28 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Very special guests for the run will be The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas.

Green Day stated, “We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!”

Before their North American leg, Green Day will be heading overseas for a run of festivals and select headlining shows across Europe and the UK. A slew of special guests will be joining them on select dates, including Nothing but Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters, and Maid of Ace.

After teasing two new tracks in Las Vegas earlier this month, Green Day have officially confirmed their new album, Saviors. The record is slated to arrive on January 19, 2024 through Reprise/Warner Records. The group also premiered Tuesday the music video for the album’s lead single, “The American Dream is Killing Me. Shot in Los Angeles, the video was directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley.

The forthcoming Saviors will be available on several exclusive vinyl versions including neon pink with neon green splatter, and black ice with hot pink splatter, with most in very limited supply and pressed only once. The album will also be available on CD, cassette, and two box set configurations. Fans can pre-order and pre-save now HERE. Check out the cover art and different physical versions below.

The band debuted “The American Dream is Killing Me” and “Look Ma, No Brains!” off the new album live last weekend during their triumphant and electrifying Las Vegas takeover, consisting of a sold-out surprise show at the 800-capacity Fremont and back-to-back headlining performances at When We Were Young Festival.

“As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’” says Billie Joe Armstrong says of “The American Dream is Killing Me.”

He describes the track as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

Recorded in London and Los Angeles, Saviors is the latest powerful collaboration between Green Day and Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, whose notable previous work with Green Day includes two of the band’s most iconic albums, 1994’s Dookie and 2004’s American Idiot. The record comes just ahead of Dookie’s 30th anniversary – celebrations have already begun with the release of a massive deluxe edition of the album and a surprise show in Las Vegas where the band performed Dookie from front to back to a sold-out crowd of superfans.
