The festival marks Foo Fighters’ first official appearance since the death of Taylor Hawkins
Boston Calling returns this Memorial Day weekend, and so do Foo Fighters. The band is set to headline the outing on Friday, May 26, marking the their first official appearance as a band since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. Other headliners include Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Lumineers, Alanis Morissette, Paramore, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Foo Fighters were slated to perform at Boston Calling last year, but canceled their performance when Hawkins passed. They were replaced by Nine Inch Nails. Now, Dave Grohl and company will make a poetic return to the Harvard Athletic Complex.
Foo Fighters’ last live performance was in Buenos Aires’ Hipódromo de San Isidro at Lollapalooza Argentina.
