The band’s first new track since 2018 arrives this week
After seemingly disbanding back in early 2020, metalcore titans Blessthefall are releasing a brand new song this week. The all-new track “Wake the Dead” arrives this Wednesday, May 24. Fans can pre-save the song now HERE.
Blessthefall’s new tune is their first piece of new material in five years. The band released their sixth studio album Hard Feelings in March of 2018 via Rise Records. The band toured in support of the record throughout the year. In April, drummer Matt Traynor announced that he was leaving the band after the Hard Feelings Tour.
“After much time and consideration, I have come to the personal decision to end my time with Blessthefall,” Traynor said on his official social media. “The Hard Feelings U.S. tour will be my last.” He went on to confirm that he was “so proud” to see how far the band has come, and that he would hold his time with the group in the highest regard.
In 2019, Blessthefall mounted a tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their 2009 LP Witness. Shortly after the tour wrapped, the band’s official social media accounts stopped being updated. On Monday, May 22, the band’s social media was updated with fresh band portraits and a link to the new song.
