Alice In Chains were forced to cancel the first date of their 2025 tour due to a medical emergency.

Shortly before doors opened, fans saw an updated on the screens outside the venue entrance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

“After our soundcheck this evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Sean [Kinney] experienced a non-life-threatening medical emergency. We unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.”

In two days, Alice In Chains are scheduled to headline 93.3 WMMR’s annual MMRBQ at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey. After two more headlining shows, the band is slated to return to the festival stage to headline the inaugural Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland. Alice In Chains are already replacing Mötley Crüe, who also pulled out due to a medical issue.

Alice In Chains’ last studio effort was 2018’s Rainier Fog. The album peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart.
