The unlikely duo make it work on their first piece of material together

Alice Cooper has joined forces with Cody Jinks for a new song called “Moving Mountains.” The shock rock icon and the country outlaw make for an unlikely pair, but they somehow make it work on the ambiguous new track. Watch the official music video below, shot by Tyler Stubblefield.
Written by Jinks, Cooper, and Bob Ezrin, “Moving Mountains” was inspired by the idea of faith, perseverance, and the ability to overcome life’s greatest challenges. After hearing a rough demo, Cooper agreed to lend his voice to the track, bringing a powerful new dimension to Jinks’ deeply personal songwriting. “Moving Mountains” will also be serviced to Christian Contemporary Radio and Rock Radio.
“Cody is an interesting guy, I really like him,” Alice Cooper stated. “He is a bit of an outlaw and outsider in my mind, but he’s first and foremost a really good songwriter. I kind of gravitated towards the idea of working together because we had these things in common. My character is also kind of an outlaw and definitely an outsider, but the music has always come first. We always make sure the songs are great. I’ve always thought it would be interesting to work with a country rock songwriter and Cody really fits in with that idea of quality accessible songwriting that still has a bit of an edge.”
Of the duet, Jinks shares, “Who would have thought ‘Moving Mountains’ would turn into what it did? A simple concept for a song that turned into one of the coolest collaborations I’ll ever be a part of.”
Written without a specific genre in mind, “Moving Mountains” lives somewhere between country, faith, and rock and explores the idea of spiritual readiness through the metaphor of packing for a long tour you’re not coming back from anytime soon. Inspired by the belief that faith can move mountains, the song reflects on the journey of life, the choices we make along the way, and what it means to be prepared for whatever comes next.
On October 27, Alice Cooper is embarking on a new leg of his Alice’s Attic Tour. The run will keep him on the road until November. Fans who are attending will witness the retuning of longtime guitarist Nita Strauss, who recently took some time off to welcome her first child.

Back in April, Alice performed some very special “Welcome to Our Nightmare” shows in Las Vegas back. These unique shows are a collaboration with illusionist Criss Angel and take place in his theatre at Planet Hollywood. The first leg of the Alice’s Attic Tour ran from April 14 through May 9. Alice then returned to Las Vegas May 22-24 for three more “Welcome to Our Nightmare” shows with Criss Angel.
Alice Cooper introduced British guitarist Anna Cara back in the spring. She took the place of his longtime guitarist Nita Strauss, who announced earlier this year that she was taking a break to welcome her first child this summer. The 22-year-old Anna, from Newcastle, England, has previously worked with Marc Storace (from the Swiss band Krokus) and Tommy Henriksen (guitarist with both Alice Cooper and the Hollywood Vampires). She has built an Instagram following with her videos.
Said Alice, “Nita found a brilliant British female guitarist to fill in for her while she is on maternity leave. Anna Cara is a beautiful dynamic shredder in the vein of Nita but with a style of her own. She will fit in with our gang perfectly while Nita is away and we can’t wait for the sick things to meet her. Welcome to the show, Anna!”
Anna, for her part, said, “This is like a dream come true, to join Alice and his great band. Back when I started playing guitar at 14, I was watching Alice Cooper live shows on YouTube dreaming of joining one day! Nita Strauss is a tough act to follow, and she’s been so encouraging to me this past month, so I am looking forward to showing everyone who I am and what I can do.”
Nita said, “When I was asked in an interview who I thought was the best up and coming guitarist, I had no hesitation in answering ‘Anna Cara.’ Anna’s precision and soulful, emotional playing will make her an amazing asset to the Cooper tour! Working with Alice for 12 years has been the experience of a lifetime and I look forward to seeing you all back on the road (with a +1 along for the ride!) Until that time comes, I know that the show is in good hands and the fans are in for a treat!”
