So, Melissa Joan Hart is a metalhead.

Recently, the actress attended Metallica and Shinedown shows with her family. She said on social media, “Another week, another rock concert with the kids! We adore Shinedown and see them every chance we have and the boys are getting me hooked Beartooth now too!” Hart and family also attended Metallica’s show recently. She shared, “Family fun at the Metallica, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies concert last night. But check out which band I rocked on my shirt to rock out!” Hart wore a Course of Nature shirt, the band that her husband Mark Wilkerson fronted in the early 2000s.

Course of Nature released one album under the moniker COG in 2001 called No Time at All. In 2002, the re-branded Course of Nature released their sophomore effort Superkala through Lava/Atlantic. The disc peaked at No. 166 on the Billboard 200. It was mixed by Juno Award winner Randy Staub (Metallica, Nickelback, Alice In Chains). The album’s second single “Wall of Shame” was featured on the soundtrack for the video game Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. The band released their final album Damaged in 2008. The group disbanded in 2011.

In 2007, Mark Wilkerson co-wrote Daughtry’s breakout hit “It’s Not Over,” which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song.

Metallica’s next stop on this North American leg of their on-going M72 World Tour is Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This summer, the band is heading overseas to take part in Black Sabbath’s massive final concert in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Metallica’s eleventh studio album 72 Seasons arrived in April of 2023 via the band’s own label, Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, 72 Seasons is Metallica’s first full length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. The 12-track album clocks in at just over 77 minutes. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock and Top Hard Rock Albums Charts. It also topped the UK Albums and UK Rock & Metal Albums charts, and went No. 1 in several other countries around the world. It was released in formats including 2-LP 140-gram black vinyl and limited edition variants, CD and digital download.

Back in January, Shinedown released two new songs – “Dance, Kid Dance” and “Three Six Five.” They are the first new pieces of material since their 2022 blockbuster LP, Planet Zero. The group are reportedly planning on releasing a new album later this summer. The multi-platinum rockers are back on the road for their massive Dance, Kid, Dance Tour. The run includes a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City in July. The trek features special guests Beartooth on the spring dates and alt-rock icons Bush on the summer dates with Morgan Wade opening all shows.

This weekend, Shinedown are headlining the inaugural Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Maryland alongside Def Leppard, Nickelback, and Rob Zombie.
