Rise To Remain are one of the fastest rising acts in heavy music. In their young career, they are no stranger to playing on the world’s biggest stages. In addition to playing this year’s Vans Warped Tour, the band has played Soundwave, Download, Sonisphere, and Graspop. Throughout their career, they have tour with the likes of Sevendust, Hatebreed, Trivium, Machine Head, Shadows Fall, Bullet For My Valentine, and Iron Maiden. In 2010, Rise To Remain won the award for “Best New Band” at the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards and the Kerrang! Magazine Award for “Best British Newcomer”. Their debut full-length LP, City of Vultures, hit #83 on the U.K. Albums Chart.
Frontman Austin Dickinson is following in the footsteps of his father, Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of heavy metal legends Iron Maiden. I caught up with Austin backstage to talk about being a heavier band on Warped Tour, their debut album, and what’s up next for the band. As far as a new record goes, Austin stated, “We actually have been writing for a very long time, and we’ve got some songs together. So, it’s all sounding good…promising so far.” Stay tuned, and crank it up with the band all summer long on Warped Tour. – by Matt Bishop
