I’m always in the pursuit of a good interview, and I got another one at Trespass America Festival when I sat down with guitarist of Battlecross. When I asked Hiran about playing on a major touring festival, he responded, “It’s been an awesome experience for us, we’re just totally stoked to be apart of it.”
Battlecross are one of the biggest up-and-coming bands in thrash metal, and they recently released their major label debut, Pursuit of Honor, on Metal Blade Records. “So many bands that we listen to are on that label [Metal Blade],” Hiran said. “To be apart of that label is huge for us, and it’s a humbling experience.” Talking about what sets them apart from other bands in the genre musically, Hiran stated, “We play in Standard-E and Drop-D tuning to brighten up the guitars and make it sound tighter.”
The band is currently on a U.S. headlining tour, and Pursuit of Honor is in stores now. Get your copy, get your tickets, and get read for a serious does of old-school thrash. CRANK IT UP! – by Matt Bishop
