Butcher Babies first played San Diego in 2010 at the House of Blues with Hollywood Undead, so it was a special show to be back at it almost 8 years later. At that time, Hollywood Undead played downstairs and Butcher Babies upstairs. Now, they played same main level with Butcher Babies showing that they are definitely killing it and moving up the musical ladder not only with 8 years of rock hard sexy performances but with new music to boot.
Aside from their awesome screaming and metal core, the show was interactive involving the audience and the mosh pit for those who wanted to let loose. Also, if your name was Jimmy, you were called out to have some Butcher Baby teasing fun coming from their new song “Pomona (Shit Happens)”. With an upcoming album of material, “Lilith”, it was great to see new music performed. “Headspin” is an awesome composition, which will definitely make your head spin seeing it live!
Interaction is also what Hollywood Undead is all about so no wonder they mesh well with the Butcher Babies. The stage was also on fire, literally, and so cool to watch. Hollywood Undead kicked off the show wearing their cool masks, engulfing the stage as usual with their high energetic presence. The stage was so Hollywood appropo with Palm trees, great lighting and pyrotechnics.
Charlie Scene, Danny, Funny Man, J-Dog, and Johnny 3 Tears are true artists, trading off vocals and guitars throughout the night. Like Butcher Babies, they also engaged the audience and brought up a guy, “Harrison”, also a guitarist, who got to jam with the guys and appeared pretty stoked for the experience.
Hollywood Undead’s compilation of rock and rap make them so unique. Coupled with the brotherhood from their childhood bond, they mesh so well from growing up on the stage together. They are going strong since 2005, touring both within the US and internationally, performing both old and new music for their old and new fan base.
