Adelitas Way ‘Alive’ and Well at Carolina Rebellion 2012

It was beautiful morning in Rockingham, NC as fans and bands alike prepared to kickoff the 2012 Carolina Rebellion. We got into the groove early, as I sat down with my buddies Rob Zakaryan, lead guitar, and Rick DeJesus, lead vocals, of Adelitas Way. Last time I saw these bros was at their homecoming appearance at the 48-Hours Festival in Las Vegas back in October of 2011. We caught up for a few minutes, then got down to talkin’ business! Rick told me that the guys will soon be releasing a fourth single from their latest record, entitled “Alive.” Even though Adelitas Way is still riding the wave of success from their current record, Rob hinted that the band has been working on some new material during their breaks from touring.
With the sun and the heat at their peak, Adelitas Way stormed the main stage at 1:00 PM, opening with their hard-hitting second single “The Collapse” and never looked back. All the guys sounded tight and on-point, and really raised the bar early in the day. Rick had told me during our interview that the band has really cranked up the intensity of their live set, and they proved it on Saturday. At one point, Rick bargained with the fans, stating if they got loud enough, he would join them and crowd-surf in the mosh pit. The crowd exploded, and Rick kept up is end of the deal. He jumped the barricade in front of the stage and was carried around by the Adelitas Faithful.
Adelitas Way self-titled debut had singles featured on hit television shows CSI: Miami and WWE Raw/Smackdown. Nearly a year since it’s release, the band’s second album, Home School Valedictorian, has produced three singles with a fourth on the way. The first single, “Sick,” hit #1 on U.S. Rock Radio. The album itself weighed in at #66 on the Billboard Top 200, and hit #4 and #20 on the Billboard Hard Rock and Billboard Rock Charts respectively. The band recently announced that they will be playing the main stage on this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival all summer long, so go get your tickets and get ready to CRANK IT UP!
